The case looks cool with the orange. I think you should twisty tie your cables down as it improveds airflow and makes the case look better. And a good 125 dollar gpu would be a used 270 or new it would be probably a r7 260x maybe??? I have only had experience with a 270. All good though.

why did you go with a non hyper threaded intel cpu? For 10 bucks more, you could've gotten a hyper threaded cpu.

If you had the money later on, buying a dedicated gpu would drastically improve performance. Some of the ones in the 40 to 60 dollar range would be perfect. Like an hd 6570. Then you could run it in dual graphics mode.

Manage the cables better. You will get better airflow, lower temps, and your parts will last longer and function better.

You have 280 not 280x in the part list plus you should've gone with a 4x2gb kit for dual channel performance.

Stock 970s! Wow nice! Plus I have that motherboard and too be honest it is a real pain. I have usb legacy devices enabled and I still have to go grab a ps2 keyboard to enter the bios. Plus, every time I try and oc past 110mhz on the bus clock, even with the voltage turns up, it just takes it back down to 4.4ghz. Plus The mobo came with BENT usb3.0 pins and I bought mobo new. Any similar problems with yours? I will not be buying another MSI mobo ever again lol.

Dont bother posting builds like this. Nobody will bother commenting on how good anything is as it is over 8 years old. If you can't even find ONE part in the list under each part category, then don't bother posting it.

You can buy usb3.0 to usb 2.0 adapters

http://www.amazon.com/Neewer-Female-Motherboard-Adapter-Converter/dp/B009SJCPO8

So if you had an open Usb2.0, you can use that.

an i3 is definitely worth it if you can spare the money in a budget, but most games don't REQUIRE 4 cores and a pentium G3258, when overclocked, still performed higher in bf4 (same as a 4770k with a gtx 760)

Notice you have zero up-votes. Get a better psu, get a better cpu ( pentium g3258 at least ) and get a gt 630 or gt 730 in there to drastically improve performance. Even for 300 dollars, this is a crappy build. Even with an OS...

Great choice i guess. But if you ever upgrade, I don't think you can get a psu small enough to fit in your case that will be able to power everything underload. But if you really dont feel you will upgrade and you like the case and how the computer is, then that seasonic psu would be a great choice!

I with the people over at noctua would at least offer different colors for fans because MOST of the fans they have look horrible, but in terms of performance, are the best you can buy. Kind of an unwanted trade off.

Comment reply on NotoriousZIB's Completed Build: Slim Shady first build

I think you should just upgrade to a different case because that case clearly doesn't have very good build quality and if you can't fit an atx power supply in it and it is a gaming pc, you should seriously consider changing to at least a micro atx mini tower that will support a better pc. Trust me! You might think it is not a big deal but older power supplies and cheaper power supplies can burn out and take YOUR ENTIRE BUILD with them. I have seen it happen many times.

You dont need a z97 or z87 mobo to oc anymore. A lot of b85 and h97 chipsets now support overclocking. I have a NAS with a pentium g3258 and an msi b85m gaming motherboard and I overclocked the pentium to 4.3ghz. There are cheaper overclocking b85 motherboards, but that is just an example. But with the b85 and h97 chipsets, you must have the most up-to-date bios to do it.

lol. The reason i don't like arctic cooling (accept for thermal grease) is because I ordered 3 cpu coolers from them and 2 case fans for 3 other builds I was doing and every single one of them was missing either the bracket, the screws, or the fan on the cooler. I tried to get a refund, but they NEVER responded, even after submitting 3 tickets.
