In countryside the performance hit would likely be from grass, try turning grass detail down to medium and seeing if it has a large impact. From there try turning it up a little if the difference bothers you till you reach a setting that works for you,. Otherwise I'm short on time so I'll try to come back with more constructive information.
It's better to state why something is better than just an opinion, it helps everyone.
They've just brought out something called darkscape which has legacy only combat, pvp everywhere and a few other cool features. exp is set to 1.5x regular for free players and 2x for paying players :)
If you happen to give it a go feel free to add me, the name is Octenious
You might like Runescape, you get a surprising amount of the game for free and you could realistically have fun for months at least without paying anything.
If you've not modded it all that much in the past Skyrim is well worth a look, the legendary edition is often very cheap as well. Here's a link to my screenshots of my current playthrough :) Steam gallery
Age of empires 2 comes to mind, basically fulfills your requirements and it's classed as one of the best RTS's, for added points get the expansions as well which add handy things like auto building more farms when your old ones die.
You can buy some weapons and the likes but I don't think they're much better than the free ones. Not played in a while though
I'd imagine it'd be tacked on to some degree so you'll have the ability to go pretty deep into this or you could wander. I doubt you'll be forced to ever build a town is what I'm meaning.
Love agar.io, it always surprises me how bad some people seem to be, I can reliably get top 10 almost any time unless my internets being used up elsewhere. But yeah I've got hooked to this recently haha.
I liked planetside 2, but never got into it to any real degree due to lack of friends playing it and bad internet at the time.
Never considered doing that, is there any disadvantage to buying everything as gifts?
Ended up getting a few games myself but not too much due to "lack of time to play much" haha
Mainly got these to replay the earlier assassins creeds, because Saints Row 3 was epic especially getting all the DLCs etc for the price, and has anybody here played with Chaos in Sonic? I can say I've always had a love for them.
Feel free to add me on steam (SeikoShadow) I get around to quite a few games but not been playing much recently. games below are currently my only multiplayer games but I'm always happy to try something new.
Europa Universalis 4
Had an Acer Aspire last me near two years, cost roughly £250-£300 if i remember, sold it on recently for £200 in good working order.
I've always wondered why this genre was referred to as 4X rather than 4E, just a marketing ploy? I mean X is a cooler letter than E afterall haha
yeah 3d sims are better in my view, but Transcendence kept me busy for a surprisingly long time, plus it has mods haha
Worth noting that there's no actual verified reports of any singleplayer only mods being banned, what seems to be getting people banned is people thinking that if a mod is disabled then it's fine to go on multiplayer when really it's not by the looks of it. Always remove all mods before going online.
UK by the way
Try giving Transcendence a go, it's a space sim with a top down view. Pretty cool once you get a few systems in. google Transcendence game
I'm nearly always on Steam when not busy elsewhere haha mostly in GTA 5 and EU4 right this moment. Feel free to add me as I do play tons of different games - seikoshadow
GTA 5 is a great game at the moment and well worth the investment if you like that sort of thing. A personal favourite which i've sunk way too much of my life into is Europa Universalis 4, which is a grand strategy game involving nearly every country in the world with a focus on management and warfare.
Whatever you decide feel free to add me on Steam - seikoshadow
haha I have no idea what the use of it is though
http://novirus.net/ looks legit haha
you'll likely be fine, what i meant by this is basically look around at your options, just because one looks the cheapest doesn't mean it is, some sites will give low or free postage which sometimes won't display on this site :) Building a computer itself is great
It may be a unique situation as I live on the Isle of Skye which is an island connected to mainland scotland by a Bridge, we're a built up area but i think the problem is the companies themselves are basically scammed by the postage companies. It's a difficult situation to explain.
After the first part or two you start to notice which sites are scamming you on postage, just exclude them from results. I often found it was preferable to buy from Amazon even if it wasn't the cheapest just because postage was often free or the cheapest.
Also Grass is very CPU intensive in rural areas, turn the quality down if possible.
This page is dedicated to this issue - http://www.incgamers.com/2015/04/gta-5-pc-cpu-usage-reduction-solution
The GTA launcher seems to be massively bloated, depending on how GTA is launched try closing the launcher after the game has started, even on high end CPU's I've heard of 25% CPU savings.
Only to the extent that Windows is a very popular OS so when people refer to a PC they will in at least a slight majority of cases be referring to a Windows PC, however kylclrk is correct in that as far as I'm aware the abbreviation PC has been around longer than windows.
The Acer Aspire series in particular are a set of very solid laptops capable of being rather powerful especially for the price range, the fact that the newer ones vary between 500gb and 1tb hard drives by default is also very nice. They're really some of the best laptops I've owned in the past.
Probably but possibly not so thought I'd give a different answer :)
There's no reason you couldn't keep updating a thread with progress, you may have one or two complain but so long as it's in a relatively relevent section I can't see any reason it'd be an issue. You will have to post images elsewhere and link to them though i think.
I went back and forth there a lot but hopefully you understand what i mean :)
No not quite, what i mean is I would suggest reinstalling windows on the SSD then once that is done plug in the HDD as well then open the BIOS and make sure that the SSD is first in the boot order.
Once this is done move any personal files from HDD to your SSD temporarily (if possible) then you can format your HDD then just use it as storage :)
This is the cleanest way to do it, providing you're willing to fix issues on the fly you could try cloning your OS to the SSD from the HDD but it's definitely a more advanced option and I've had mixed results in the past so it's not always the quicker method.
if possible do a clean install on SSD then move everything across after changing boot order so SSD is first. It will avoid soooo many headaches both in the short term and long term.
Lifesaver thanks Jason
any game that will benefit from that shiny new graphics card is likely to be minimum 20GB install with 20-30GB download, This isn't a hard rule obviously but its the sort of scenario you're looking at. Get a 1TB HDD then the graphics card :)
I can't see any benefit to this, at worst you're shaming users with everyone knowing who it is, and at best you're still shaming users but just making it so only they know and anyone else that saw the response. Literally no good could come from this other than a bit of a laugh perhaps at the expense of the community.
Well what are you actually going to use it for?
I'm sure you know this already but just to make sure, don't forget the cost of an Intel compatible motherboard :)
I like Microsofts take on it whereby you can still see everything but then you've got vr almost overlayed
I think you may have difficulty fitting those graphics cards in your build, they don't seem to follow the standard fittings 0_o hha
I've found that I love my Huawei Ascend P6 and I believe they're releasing the P7 version shortly. Great phone all around and very stylish brushed metal finish on the back. One of the worlds thinnest phones with a slightly iPhonish look to it.
sorry about that, seems my internet was doing something funky haha. Either way fair enough hopefully we can see some more completed builds of these as thats always my favourite part :)
I've read the descriptions and I think I can see roughly what you're aiming for, it's just that when i hear themed builds i think of something more like below -
This is going to come across as quite mean but how is this a themed build? The links you posted are just generic red and blue builds that haven't actually been built?
Not sure if I'm in a bad mood due to the flu or if this is justified but yeah..
Fair enough I'll keep it in mind
Fair enough I'm yet to play the games so I'm not particularly biased one way or another. I suppose I just prefer the rpg elements more than the hack-n-slash style I've seen in the Dark Souls games at least :)
was Souls really all that good?
fair enough my mistake :)
