Slick build. Great color coordination and cable management.
Thanks! The cooler was definitely a challenge to install, mostly due to the way the DR_Pro 3 required using a tiny wrench. I cut myself a few times on the fins. I believe the DR_Pro 4 has a much better installation method though. I didn't want to take any chances with RAM clearance, which is why I used RAM without heatspreaders. However RAM with low-profile heatspreaders like the Corsair Vengeance would have fit. One unexpected challenge was access the GPU release tab post-installation when it came time to upgrade...I think I ended up using the blunt end of a chopstick to a reach it. Cheers!
Congrats on the featured build...very nice cable management
Sorry for the late response. I really like the cooler, though it was a pain to install. Looks like a new version just came out that solved that issue however. It was definitively a tight fit with the RAM and my sticks do not have heat spreaders. Good luck with the build.
Thanks. I have another one coming soon with a similar theme.
I just logged in to start researching a Define S/C Hackintosh build and saw this beauty staring at me on the front page. Congrats on the feature!
Great style and cable management. The USB port covers are a subtle, but very nice touch as well...I had a pack of them delivered last week.
Family member works for MS.
Thanks. The desk is the UPLIFT 900 Four-Leg Desk, Reclaimed Wood.
Thanks! I like the motherboard, but to be honest I haven't really pushed it with the overclocking. After fiddling with it for a while I went back to using the OC Genie to get a modest bump. If I ever switch to water cooling I might revisit overclocking though.
I bought custom length cables from Ensourced (Touch of Gray color) designed specifically for the Seasonic PSU.
Which cables in particular are you asking about. The PSU or front panel cables?
Thanks. The LED strip does not photograph very well. It's a Philips Hue lightstrip and the color can be changed easily. I really like the Grid+ v2 and the CAM software.1
I really like the case, though if I had known they were coming out with the define s nano I probably would have gone that route. Two additional top fans might be overkill, though my big concern was maintaining positive airflow. I replaced my ASUS PB278Q with an Acer ultrawide (xr341ck) last month, which was a big improvement. I just haven't gotten around to updating the pictures.
Best of luck with the build.
I haven't experimented much with the fan placement on the bottom, though airflow is amazing in this case. The PSU position is purely for aesthetics (the other side has a big sticker on it), though I should probably get over that and switch it around.
I got a while back and since then cheaper alternatives have popped up.
I am by no means an expert, but it looks good to me. Nothing in particular stands out as a bad component. Are you going for a particular look or color scheme, or just the best bang for your buck? The Sapphire 390 is a wonderful card.
m.2 slot on the motherboard, just below the GPU.
Great build and setup. I love seeing water cooling setups in this case. This should be featured.
Thanks! I think I lost the silicon lottery unfortunately. After a few days of messing around in the bios, including the voltage, and reseating the cooler 3 times, I just gave up and mimicked the OC genie settings.
Well done. I like the choice of color and the custom touches.
Agreed. Greet color coordination otherwise and a nice looking build.
Good looking build. I was tempted to get the be quiet silent wings case fans for my build. How do you like them? Do they get very load when under load?
Good looking build. I like the ratio of black to white.
Congrats on the feature. That is sweet looking build.
Great looking build.
Nice and tidy. Love that case.
That is one sweet looking setup. Well done.
That is a very nice looking build...well done.
Thanks. I am waiting on a new ultrawide monitor and will likely submit it to /r/Battlestations soon. The nice thing about custom made sleeving is having them the exact length you want which makes cable management much easier/cleaner. You did a great job with the stock cables and the color coordination of all of you components. I was so close to getting either a H440 or S340. I'm partial to builds on this site with those cases but settled on the fractal for air flow and its great cable management.
Nice, clean build. I really like that case.
Nice looking build...I'm partial to that case.
Thanks. It was a fun build. Look forward to seeing your build if you post it here. I am waiting for Pascal as well to run a 1440p ultrawide display.
Nice setup. I like the all black look.
Clean looking build. Very nice!
It was a tight fit. The anti-vibration pads are the culprit in my case. However, I uninstalled and reinstalled them a number of times and it really wasn't too difficult to get them to fit. No modifications needed. I looked at the manual again and it is supposed to support 3 120mm or 140mm fans.
Yep, those are three 140mm fans in the front.
No worries. It's a great card and you got i for a sweet price.
Got it from Jet.com using a coupon code. You can get a pretty descent discount if you are a first time buyer.
Great looking build with tidy cable management.. Love that case too.
Overclocking the RAM itself? I do like the aesthetics of the Be Quiet cooler. It's also very quiet and performs well enough for my needs.
Sweet build. +1
Thanks. I am not currently running a KVM and have separate keyboard and mouse for each machine. I have a 1440p capable KVM that I used before my recent move and it worked without issue. I didn't install it in my current setup as my monitor is damaged and I am planning on upgrading to 4K or an ultra wide soon and those resolutions aren't supported by the KVM I have.
Thanks! It is not windowed. I went with that option to reduce noise.
Thanks. The desk is the UPLIFT 900 Four-Leg Desk (Reclaimed Wood) and the holster is the 3M Adjustable Under-desk CPU Holder.
Really ice build. I like the custom touches. I settled on the Define S as well for potential watercooling down the line.
