Outstanding! A great build, with a great write up and great pictures. Inspiring!
Does your top card fully seat into the slot? The heat pipe that runs from the plx/chipset heatsink prevents longer cards from being fully seated in the top slot my board.
Aptly titled. VERY clean.
This is art right here. Simply beautiful.
Very nice build! I have a couple of questions about the M.2 drive directly beneath the GPU. What kind of temps are you seeing and do you know of or experience any thermal throttling during file transfers?
Awesome build! Thanks for sharing your story. I wish you the best in the future!
Beautiful system! Beautiful setup as a whole! Very detailed write-up as well. As sweet as all of your gear is, I think I'm geeking out the most over your desk. That's super clean. What kind of desk is it and where did you get it?
Very nicely done! What kind of temps are you seeing and how fast are your fans running?
Nicely done! Very clean, and great pictures too!
Super clean build and setup! I have a lot of the same components as you. They look so awesome in your build, I've decided to move them to an S340 Elite. Great picture quality too. #Inspirational
Sweet build! I'm looking to use the same drives in this case, but from the images I've seen it looks like only one set of holes on the 10TB ironwolfs line up with the drive bracket. How did you mount yours?
Excellent build and great write up. I'm thinking of expanding my nas in a define R5. I also plan on running two Windows VMs, one for gaming using a GTX 1080 Ti. Your build is inspiring. Outstanding job!
Nice build! Do you know if your Enthoo Pro is a newer revision? I ask because it has the SSDs on the drive bays like the Enthoo Luxe tempered glass model.
Great mods and craftsmanship!
Nice system. Nice pics too!
Yeah, the holes didn't quite line up right on the front. Mounting is much more straight forward on the top, but things get pretty tight around the top of the motherboard. The main reason I moved it to the front was a video by Kyle from BitWit showing cooling improvements by mounting it in the front. My temps didn't really change though. Plus, wiring the fans was a lot easier from the front.
It doesn't officially fit inside of the Define R5.
I haven't had any issues with it. Works fine for me.
Sweet build. Nicely done!
Excellent build. Beautiful craftsmanship. Extremely well done!
I'll probably keep it for sentimental reasons.
Nope. The Kraken has FAR exceeded my expectations for an AIO. It's VERY quiet. I have it manually set to a speed of 65%. However, the 1080 Ti's pretty much overshadow any other system noise once you start pushing them.
I wish Noctua would make 1500 RPM black fans like the industrial series. Luckily, I was able to find a few of the LTT fans and swap the orange chromax for black.
Thanks! The cable management took me the most time with this build. Working inside of the R5 is a snap, with the exception of the holes for CPU power at the top. Those could be a little bigger. It was harder than it should have been to get the 8-pin connector through.
Thanks! The 1080 Ti's get pretty loud under load. The Kraken X62 does a great job at cooling the 6950X. Unless it's under an AVX load, the fans run around 500 rpm and the CPU core temps stay in the mid 60s. I've worked on the system on and off for a while. Couldn't really give a time frame, and that's mostly because I was being lazy.
I'm hoping it can run Solitaire.
+1 Very clean build. Nicely done! Great pics too.
