If you feel you can get away with 3tb of storage, try this one. Monitor and windows 8 included in cost.

The second drive really isn't that necessary, it will just back everything up so you'll be unlikely to lose any work.

This build is assuming it will mainly be used for 3d animation. Even so, the 770 will still max out any game you throw at it. Aftermarket cooler is there since you seemed to be very concerned about heat. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/FNHFmG

Run the wd reds in raid 1.

great! not sure how much overclocking you'll be able to do with the 212 evo though, or if you plan on doing any at all. If you don't you could've saved a lot of money by going with a non z-chipset and a locked i7.

+1 for great cable management

I have no idea what solidworks is, but judging by his 4790k and only a gtx 760, I'd say it's more cpu intensive.

Nice build, probably would've gone with one 780 as opposed to 2 760's though.

For a high end build like this, I definitely wouldn't have no gpu, especially if you plan on using a 4k monitor. If you're looking for something for the time being, I'd maybe go with a 750ti, but it seems a bit low end for this. It does have a displayport output though.

Nice. I love the bitfenix prodigy. For the gpu I probably would've gone with a rear exhaust gpu, as it's supposedly better for cooling in a small case.
