I'm trying to remember, but I think there are a couple of drive cages from the rear side panel next to the power supply.
Yes it has screws so you can return it.
Thanks. Just needed a little paint and some patience while taping.
Nope. Bios worked out of the box
Thanks! Hope yours turns out even better than mine.
It came with updated bios.
I guess I did...
I typically use Krylon spray paint. I haven't seen any issues with melting paint.
Thank you. To this day it's been one of my favorite builds. Black and gold just looks classy!
With a dremel tool
That Asus eye side plate. Was that created with a laser cutter? Very professional. Top notch, mate. Very cool.
No. Not my first build. Actually you had commented on my Golden Elite budget build awhile back. I always give anyone who comments on my builds the courtesy of viewing theirs and trying to give back some comments. I'm working on a Japanese "Elements" themed build using the Quad Lumi and an NZXT H700. "Elements" being the Japanese kanji symbols for water, fire, wind and earth.
I thought about replacing the white led fan on the Quad Lumi with an NZXT Aer fan, but I actually kinda like the white glow it gives.
Great build! I'm going to use the Cryorig Quad Lumi in an upcoming build. Best looking air cooler out there. Especially love the underglow it gives off. Well done.
I would look at screening that bottom light strip somehow. Maybe with some frosted film or tape? Or maybe a small piece of acrylic lightly painted white. Just a thought.
NZXT AER fans
Actually I made it. A little bit of Acrylic, spray paint and vinyl stickers.
Acrylic - $10. Spray paint- $6. Gold Vinyl and black sheets - $5.
The most budget of all budget builds. Solid for 1080p gaming.
I didn't find it here at partpicker, but I certainly checked its price history here. I do with all my parts. Love the case! It was $37.00 on Newegg with an additional 15% off with an Ebay sitewide promotion. Probably the best deal i was able to get with this build.
I love the Techsource setup wars...not ready to do a new setup. Maybe Mark can take that on. Thanks!
Krylon or Rust Olem spray paint typically.
Still on sale at B&H Photo if you want to try one. Thanks!
It's my new hobby. Buy a case as cheap as I can get them and try to make them dope AF!
Regular price is usually around $40. I've used EVGA PSU's in the past, they are just as reliable as any other I've used. If not, it comes with a good warranty. So far so good.
The Toshiba HDD was purchased at Microcenter. There was a bin of them. They were in a cardboard box when purchased. Just acrylic, paint and vinyl stickers, that's it for the modding. Just realized I forgot the HDD in the parts list... it was $29.99 at MicroCenter last week.
Where did you get an RX 570 for $130? That is an awesome deal. I have been getting used RX 560's around $90 for my budget builds.
With acrylic, heat gun, vinyl, scissors and spray paint. Tons of youtube videos on how to do it.
Overwatch on high settings runs around 85 fps. I'll test more and post soon.
So far so good. From power up to desktop is about 15 seconds. I don't have much bloat loaded up. I'm wondering how long it will last. I might upgrade to an Nvme m.2 if the right deal comes along.
How on earth did you get a Corsair Crystal 570X RGB tower for $15???
Is there a huge difference for gaming?
I like it. It gets the job done. Nothing too fancy.
I like the look of it in the lower lane. In my testing it made no difference in fps between the two lanes.
Outstanding. Really clean build.
Yeah. It's been running just fine in the 2nd slot.
They were part of a combo deal with the ASUS Z170A motherboard. I had to check it twice to make sure it was right.
Ahh. I haven't noticed any performance issues with it in the 2nd slot. I'll do some research to see if it makes that much of a difference. I like the look of the card in the 2nd slot. Why do they say it has 2 PCIe x16 connections? Weird.
Cheap black ones from Newegg:
I couldn't find the SP120 RGB in the parts list.
My brace and combs are on the way!
Hell yeah Brah
I live in the U.S. Modern shipping is amazing, I received my Coldzero hardware in 5 days.
Not needed for 1080p gaming.
Binx helped a ton with the build...By help I mean knocking the small screws off of the table.
I tried to do some research. Both of the top PCIE slots are 16x...I know if you run SLI they become 8x. Asus suggests that you put a single caRd in the top slot. So am I running 8x in the second slot? How can I tell? I like the look of the card in the 2nd slot.
I can report too many kills to count in Doom.
Yeah. I'm gonna get a brace for it.
