Everything in your post is completely false.

  1. The 390 beats the 970 in nearly every synthetic bench and in most games that arent optimized by nvidia. Even then its right behind the 970.

  2. Any game that has relesed in the last year or so is going to use 4gb or more of vram. Vram also plays a large part when displaying higher resolutions. The 390 litterally destroys games at 1440p compared to the 970.

  3. You didnt find a new 970 for that price. It was refurbished or open box.

  4. Have you physically seen how many watts a 970 draws? Mine was pulling just over 200 with a large overclock. My 390 pulls 275 overclocked. Not enough of a difference to justify getting a larger psu.

Try harder bud

I need more pictures of this awsome looking build!

Great hardware choices and good job finding a deal on those 290s.

Question, I also have a 850w psu and wanted to xfire 390s. Do you think ill have a problem? Seems likes your psu is handling the 290s just fine.

The 600 bronze is just rated as a "tier 3" psu along with the cx series. There are a few sites that have ratings for psus based off of build quality and stabilityand such. They log the results into a tier list and rate each psu with tier 1 being the best and 5 the worst. Neither are bad psus I just wouldnt use this one for this build personally.

XFX pro series and EVGA G2, GS seem to be the rage right now. You could pick one up for about $130

I personally use a corsair RM 850 which seems to be doing well for my 390/4690k

This psu is in the same bracket as the cx series..

However both psus are fine for office machines and low tier gamers but I would be wary using this for a 390/8350 build.

I like to use 3dmark firestrike and unigine valley for synthetics. Yeah they're more GPU benches but some tests put the CPU in heavy load and the scores would give me a ballpark estimate on what it can do. I would appreciate it!
