I appreciate that, thanks! This picture is super grainy but here's a rough idea of what the setup looks like. Not sure how the pictures differ, but here's there are some other photo albums of the setup stickied in this comment. I'd be happy to upload others though, if it doesn't give you an idea of the whole setup

I bought both originally, but I only ended up using the Corsair Commander Pro. I did need a fan splitter since I'm running 7 fans and the Commander Pro only supports 6. Adding the splitter allows you to have 7 or more fans but whatever fans you group on the splitter will only show up in iCue as one fan. You will need an RGB header if you want to control the colors of the fans in iCue though. Some of the LL fan bundles on Amazon come with them, just double check and make sure. The Commander Pro has 2 USB slots on it, which was just enough for me (one for the CPU cooler and one for the case USB slots)

Thank you! I put the parts under a ton of scrutiny and made three or four saved lists before I really pulled the trigger on one. Got lots of advice from PC-enthusiast friends too. 'Preciate the kind words regarding the pictures and feel too, photographed it myself :)

Thanks! I spent months browsing on here and the white builds drew me in wayyyy more than the RGB ones did, but everything else that I own is somewhere in between white/grey/black anyways so I'm sure that played a huge part. Black/grey/white just looks so clean and simple but sharp imo

It took some playing around with to match them all up but the settings that I found were:

  • Fans @ FFFFFF
  • AIO, Keyboard, Mouse @ 4BD9FF
  • In Asus AURA I had it at like 198 Hue, quarter saturated (AURA won't open or else I'd double check for you)

IRL it has a tiny aqua tint to it but when everything's all synced up and there are no other lights on it looks pure white. The camera plays tricks on its perceived hue too, it drops the aqua tint

The Halo series = big classic. Been playing through the MCC on Xbox One recently actually

It's partly named after Jack Reacher too. Solid movie series even though the first is better than the second imo.

The airflow is great! Originally I was looking at the H500 but the extra exhaust slot on the H700 and the extra room for a radiator sandwich in the front did it for me. There are 7 140mm fans in there and they can really push air through the case. I hardly ever have to turn the fans above 1000 RPM and when I do it's usually just for kicks when I'm wearing headphones or something. My GPU maxes out at like 58C and it idles at 29C (27C ambient).

Some are taken with a Nikon D3400, others are taken with an iPhone (all the vertical ones). I used Lightroom for the editing software, but any program that adjusts Exposure / Contrast / Highlights / Shadows / Whites / Blacks and HSL sliders would do just as well. Definitely! I was playing around with the RGB software early on and the pink / blue combo does indeed look really nice. Thanks!

It's funny, I was hesitant to go with any RGB hardware from NZXT because of the vocal minority that you'd run into any time you google CAM, and I thought I dodged a bullet after going with iCue but AURA won't open at all anymore. Guess it's just a hit or miss, happy for you that your software's working well though!

Wasn't even thinking about negative air pressure and dust magnets, to be honest. Don't know if it makes any difference but I've got a push-pull config on the radiator, the H115i Pro comes with two ML140s. Aside from that, if I notice dust it's no big deal to pop the glass off and hit it with some compressed air. Really wish I could give you a better answer to your question but I'm too ill-informed to do really do so. I just wanted to move as much air through the case as possible, and the dust guards in the front and on the bottom do a good job of keeping it out.

Having a water cooler doesn't worry me at all, given the lack of reports of leakage combined with Corsair covering the cost of the damages if it happens to occur. Corsair AIO > NZXT though

Sure bro! Just my critiques real quick, I created a few excel spreadsheets to compare the performances of the 2700X vs. the 9900K (since those are two flagships of AMD and Intel currently under $1,000) and the 9900K was only minutely better than the 2700X. Definitely not justifiable for the $200 price increase. If having the latest and greatest CPU is what matters to you, then go with the 9900K (or wait a little while for the Gen3 CPUs to come out, Ryzen released previews of the 3600 and 3600X already), but if you want the best value for your dollar then go with the 2700X hands down.

64GB of RAM might be a little overkill depending on your usage. If you want to go with that though, it'd actually be cheaper to buy two 2x16 packages (at $200 each) then one 4x16GB for $550.

According to UserBenchmark.com the 3TB Seagate Barracuda performs better than the 2TB HDD (not sure the reasoning but that's what they've reported).

2070 ---> 2080 definitely to pair with a 2700X or a 9900K. You can also google FPS data for games to compare between the two cards. I only looked in the 1080-Ti, 2080, and 2080-Ti range when I was comparing mine and the 2080 was by far the best deal.

750 or an 850 watt PSU both place you in the optimum range for efficiency (50% to 80% of the wattage used), an 850 would give you more headroom if you want to upgrade components in the future. Just my quick opinions based on the research that I did leading up to my build, hope you enjoy yours!

Thanks! I used a bit of compressed air right before I took the pictures but some of the dust was so caked on. I'll have to go over it a second time and update the pictures :)
