TigerDirect had a deal for a 4690k at $195. You missed out, man. Still, very very solid build. I don't know what you did on the memory, kits are cheaper and are validated to work better together, but +1 anyways.
Nice build. would be WAY overkill for me. +1
There's only 1 chip on the 260x. I said that because all the xfx r7 260xs that I saw only had one fan.
I didn't even know they made dd r7 260xs.
I almost did too...
interesting choices.... still +1 for me.
I don't mean that in a mean way.
no, really? I would never have guessed.
why 16 gb?
I think I just got my NAS kicked.
if it wasn't i don't know what is.
why did he get the 7990? 2 r9 290s are faster. also, what's with the apu?
slower ram with a lower cl will be almost as good as faster ram with a higher cl. that still doesn't justify why this guy just used an apu with a 7990.
how fast does it go?
+1 for name!
also, you might want to go with a newer APU if you are getting a new build.
AMD is much further ahead in integrated graphics than intel. Go with the a10 5757. I haven't actually heard about that cpu though.
Yeah, it should be good. I have heard very good reviews from people like teksyndicate online.
and you may want to get a better CPU, with a less powerful GPU. This is better. I don't know what I was thinking with that other build.
what monitor do you have?
I wouldn't keep any of those parts except for peripherals. Try this
That computer looks so old that I wouldn't keep anything except the monitor, speakers, mouse and keyboard.
Try better next time. Something's wrong when you spend more on your PSU than your CPU on a 1180$ build like this.
GTX 770 on a 700 dollar budget. O_o +1
nice name! also, you did better shopping for this stuff than I ever could have done. good job! +1
mark them as purchased and I'll give you an upvote
had what already?
ummmm........... are they in raid for the ssds?
This build looks pretty cool. I doubt I could have worked in that case without like, somehow spearing a pipe on the cooler and spilling water all over everything.
$815 on peripherals is 500ish dollars too many. You also could have done much better with 1200$.
I guess i underestimated the power of water cooling once again.
what are you talking about? that's terrible bang for buck. 2000$ and not even an ssd, an r9 290/gtx 780, and not even a good cooler? bang for buck?
Nice build! How the heck did you get the prices that low on the parts you bought?
I wish I would be able to use something this epic.
This rig would be MASSIVE overkill for me, but it has great parts. Nice build! (upvote)
Thanks, man! I just got extra SATA cables today, and will be using them to attach my hard drive. Also, do you know if I can somehow upgrade to 64-bit Windows without the installation disk?
If I were to upgrade the PSU, what should I upgrade to?
If you press a button on the case, the computer will shut down. when it stars up again, the logo lights up red!!!!!
It is reserving 5.8 gigs, and is using 1.1, with 1.1 more if it's needed.
Interesting choices for a build like this.....
Nice build. I wish I had the money to spend on a build like that.
Anything wrong with that?
Thank you. The sata cables that I ordered should have come by Friday, but they still haven't shown up. :(
I would be more than willing to take more pics of the inside. I just don't know how to update the description.
