It's a solid gaming build. the GPU compliments the CPU quite well, the case is great and the parts just flow. You did good.

74 degrees on the GPU is not bad, 95 would be bad.

Good chip, the FX series gets a lot of hate, but i can record, stream and game all at the same time and it doesnt skip a beat, cant beat that for the price.

Have you thought about the 130 instead? I did a build in one about a year ago and it turned out exactly as i had hoped.

Nice, if you don't mind being without the 5.25 bay you could pick up the Fractal Design Define S, that might be better suited for what you're going for.

I could have gone with a cheaper larger board and bought a wireless card for it, but i wanted everything to be compact and combined. I also have another case in mind for him later on, specifically the bitfenix prodigy, he always did like that case.

Being the older brother is not as easy as some make it out to be, i grew up and started my own family and it's my fault for not really being there for him.

Just put together an 860k build last night with the R9 290 i had. I have a 1440p monitor but dont mind dropping down to 1080p if need be. I ran it with the R9 280 for a bit in Skyrim and it seemed to do really we, much better than i thought it would at stock clocks. i will be trying Dark Souls 3 tonight with the 290 and will let you know how it does.

The CM130 is quite an experience to build in isn't it :) Maybe I'll post the updated build this evening and let you know how it handles DS3?

What are your fps like in games, do you find the 860k, i would have thought the 290 would be too much for the 860k

not on this build, i sold it to a friend so i reverted everything back to stock. if he wants to overclock it he can. only time I've seen real world benefits from overclocking RAM is in a APU build.

i would recommend a fully modular PSU and an aftermarket heatsink for this cpu in this case, it does tend to run a little hot and if you're going to keep the stock heatsink then i do recommend a fully modular PSU and a very good intake fan, make sure the PSU is exhausting hot air from inside the case out.

I could be wrong but iirc it is similar to the 760k with the iGPU, the a8 is a good chip but it depends on what you are going to use it for. If gaming is what you want I would strive for the a10 or go with the 760k or 860k and get a dedicated GPU.

the calculator puts me at 738 watts, so is an 850 enough for overclocking headroom?
