I really apologize for the slow response! I had some unexpected surprises the last two weeks and have been away.
This motherboard has been fantastic so far... Zero issues so far. That is with overclocking, messing with XMP, etc... I'd definitely recommend. It has been very stable.
I work in the InfoSec space.
I am running the i5-7600K + GTX1080 Founders in the ASRock Fatal1ty Z270 K6. Abso-freaking-lutely love it.
Hey, sorry I missed your comment. I will check tonight on what the max temps were during bench marking. It was hot. I was running the Corsair H100i v2.
I prematurely posted the completed build. My mobo, proc and RAM were delayed from delivery this weekend. :( SMH
The pics uploaded are from the original build.
Appreciate the comments.
I definitely will be switching over to Intel in the near future. This machine is going into a multi-purpose role that I wasn't expecting. I typically leverage one of my Xeon workstations for work but this machine is going to fill a new niche.
Can't wait to get the new parts setup and run some benchmarks.
Why wouldn't I spend all that money on the 1080?
Eh... I won't say bad but it is definitely not the best. ;)
The board, proc and RAM will be switched out. My original intention was a gaming machine on the side. I ended up pissed off with CrossFire support, or lack there of, and picked up a GTX 1080.
My main workhorses are Dell Precisions + PowerEdges for the work that I do. I wouldn't touch an Opteron in any of my servers.
I do understand it is bottle-necked currently. It'll change. Appreciate the link to the video. I had not seen that previously.
The build started out way different than were it's at right now. I will end up jumping on the i7 wagon soon.
Still, FX love.
She was in the way for the beginning of the build. Thankfully, catnip and NewEgg boxes made her chill out for awhile.
I probably should have gone a little larger for some future plans. But, it works well and fixes into the case nicely.
