Yep! He might get a job soon and some New year’s money so we’ll definitely look into that a bit more.
Thanks! I’ll try to get more pics in but this was really rushed and I handed over the computer to my friend. And we’ll try to get a replacements soon, thanks again!
thanks for the advice, I’ll try to get my friend to find a replacement ASAP.
Maybe in the future, my friend is still dirt poor lol
Awesome build! Though personally I would've stuck a more powerful graphics card. Nicely done otherwise!
His mistake, not mine....so honestly I could care less and not help.
Synthetically speaking yes, for gaming and single thread applications the Intel is better, but not by much. In real life you won't notice a difference but for multi-threaded applications, the Ryzen does have a noticeable lead over the 8600K. Not to mention that you can, on average, overclock a 1600 to 3.8GHz on the stock cooler and a B350 motherboard. If you're just gaming then both are great picks and it's really just brand preference but for multi threaded applications the Ryzen is much better which is what I was trying to get across.
First of all I thought he was getting an i7 8700K. Second I thought he would be gaming at 1440p because you really shouldn't cash out $300 on a CPU for 1080p gaming. And because I assumed he would be gaming at 1440p or higher, I recommended more cores. See, when you game at higher resolutions, the CPU matters less. You'll barely see a frame difference between the 8600K and 1600 (which is what I'd personally recommend at this price range). Where the CPU DOES matter is in CPU-intensive tasks, which usually depend more on core/thread counts than clock speed, so therefore you should invest in a CPU with more threads always when gaming at higher resolutions. Not to mention that Ryzen runs cooler, consumes less power, and B350 motherboards are extremely affordable. However since he's gaming at 1080p that gets thrown out the window.
rip kaby lake user
Wow you must do some serious work to need a 16-core beast!
Lol I was joking, the other guy's right though. You can afford a 6-core 12-thread Ryzen 5 1600 with stock cooler for the same/similar price. I know you are concerned with aesthetics which I respect, but the stock cooler looks plenty nice as well. I guess it all comes down to preference, and the decision is already made; but whenever you built your next PC, seriously consider the potential of what extra performance you can gain if you shaved off some money on a part or two.
Oh I see, bit misled by the CPU Clock speed in the details section
Shame Intel B350 (or whatever it's gonna be called) didn't launch at the same time. This would've been a huge bargain then. But then again it'll probably go out of stock really fast too.
I would recommend Ryzen 7 instead, what resolution are you going to be playing at?
How'd you overclock this thing to 4.0 GHz????
Because you could've given that money to me
Nice build but WHY AIO FOR RYZEN 3 it breaks my heart to see that :( also love HardwareCanucks too!
LOL looks like BitWit's RGB Build if y'all know what I'm talking about but that £699 CPU breaks my heart.
WHAT! That's crazy! Almost double the price of the MSRP! I think you got ripped off....
Lmao when your CPU is more expensive than my entire system....
This would've been a balanced build but that RX 580 just throws everything off. Not to mention that you (I guess) paid $600 for that. Bad choice.
I'm guessing AMD fanboy. No don't call me some Intel/Nvidia fanboy because I'm all in for Ryzen but still, $600 for an RX 580. Just no.
Dang next Random Gaming in HD in case you don't know who he is he has a YT channel
Dang you seem pretty stubborn. Just saying.
Overkill but that’s whats great about Threadripper.
Alright thanks I try it out!
Wow we’re like related or something because we have similar use cases and builds lol. Also I need your help. I have the same power supply and a similar graphics card. Since the PSU comes with 1x 8-pin and 1x 8+6 pin, what do I do with the extra 6 pins? It looks hideous on my Build right now but it looks well hidden on your build. How did you do that?
Ouch, okay I’ll take that into consideration....
Its 3440x1440, other than that great build! Congrats.
Is it fine if I use a Noctua for the i9 7900X? I’m afraid that it’s gonna melt.
How is this not featured yet???
So gorgeous my boi.
alright seems good then! Thanks for the reply.
You're making me jealous bruh....but two questions. Why an optical drive? And I would've picked out the NZXT S340 Elite or Phanteks P400STG for the case. Also, I would've liked to see a Z270 motherboard, but what can I really ask for a build this cheap?
Very nice build and I can definitely see that you put work into it. However, here are some odd things:
1. Why an optical drive in 2017?
2. 450W is cutting it quite close.
3. A much, much better case for only $10 extra would be the NZXT S340
Other than that, the price to performance ratio isn't bad at all. Have fun with your computer!
Lol ya I've been to the Philippines twice and it's pretty expensive there. But at least now I know I'm not the only one to have a PC like this...
4 letters: BRUH.
wtf this build looks almost identical to mine.....it's a small world
The last picture....is that....no....is that a....CONSOLE!?
Overclock the s**t out of that CPU boi
No that's just there as a substitute for now since the RX 580 is basically only a refresh of the RX 480.
Guess I'll just kill myself now then.
thanks! I'm planning to wait on a graphics card because I won't be needing it for now anyway, but I'll keep an eye out!
Ya well I'll explain it a bit better in the description.
np, you deserved it! Have fun!
