and boy for a 17 year old card this thing works great!

17 year old card? Is that a typo because I'm pretty sure that thing didn't come out in 2000 ahah.

Nice build anyways, man.

The new Pentiums are great for the price nowadays. They kick some serious butt. A few years ago, that wasn't the case.

Huh. Interesting. I've formed my opinion from working at a used parts store/recycling center. Whenever I test a batch of HDDs, most Seagate drives over 1TB have issues.

Whoops, didn't even realize that BarraCuda was a 2.5". Totally just assumed it was fine, hahah. I'd go with Western Digital. Seagate is... meh.

You could go much cheaper than that for just office work, I would think.

Something like this would work just fine.

If you want more suggestions, I basically just modified fellway's build. (Great parts choice, by the way.)

I swapped the Node 202 for the Node 304. Still a compact case, but it leaves a little more room for cooling. This also let me exchange the Silverstone for a C7 (I'm partial to Cryorig) and the PSU to the highly acclaimed SuperNova G3.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Torn between three builds"

I'd go with the second one. It has the nicest case. Also, I think that ram will look nice with the mobo and everything else.

Otherwise, they're all pretty much identical. Great parts choices!

At your budget, do yourself a favor and get an SSD. You could get a 500GB SSD for your OS and some core programs and then get a larger HDD to use for file storage.

That's the exact reason I didn't go with the 1060. Way too expensive right now.

That build was actually for a friend, not me. My personal build is here. He says the 1050ti is treating him well.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Different audio driver?"

Your motherboard only has Realtek HD audio, unfortunetely. Because of that, you have to install Realtek HD Audio drivers.

If you more/different options, you'd have to install a new sound card.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "corsair or razer mouse?"

The M65 mouse is unbelievable. Great price, too. The Glaive is a bit too busy in my opinion, and Razer drivers are obnoxious. I think the G502 is weirdly shaped as well.

I'd go with the M65 if I were you.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Better CPU or more RAM?"

Definitely go with a better processor out of the gate. It's a lot easier to add more ram later. I think 8GB would be just enough for your needs for a bit.
