Yes, i have the cpu overclocked to 4.5, ram to 2400, gpu 1070 &6700. I get an average 75-90 fps at 2k ultra in bf4 & battlefront is 65-75.
950(163) vs 960 4gb ssc(189) ? http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=04G-P4-3966-RX
How about that cable management though...
Hows this http://pcpartpicker.com/user/TheWhitestTrash/saved/8nczK8 ?
They just released Zorin 10 OS, based on Unbunti 15.04 and uses 3.19 kernel, so it will not be slower.
Good amount of effort put into this guide. Basically the desktop version of a chromebook. +1
I think Zorin os > linux mint ; )
I would have saved on case fans and bought a corsair c70 case. Would allow more airflow for that xfx monster you have in there.
Where did you pick up that 970??
an i7 5820k is basically a 4790k with two more cores, more L2 and L3 cache, for 40 bucks more its a much better processor. That ddr4 does have a high latency, a lower latency in an 8gb would have been better. I would have gone with an evga ftw gtx 960 for 20 bucks more which also has 2gb more of ddr5.
I have the same question, I plan on building an godavari apu build and throwing in a gtx 960 evga ftw at a later time. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/TheWhitestTrash/saved/QkknTW Using the bios i could let the igpu use a minimum of 8 gb of ddr3. The igpu plus the 960 should let me play every game at 1080p ultra settings easy.
How do you install linux/unbuntu/zorin onto a new pc? Did you burn to a dvd then install?
I was reading some forums on direct x 12 and i am a little confused. There are reports of using crossfire and sli wiyhoit beiges and the functionality of putting the 7870k with a graphics card more powerful gpu. If we can use dual graphics with a more powerful card, i would use a 4gb r7 370, i would change the psu now and go dual if it is confirmed sfter win10 launch.
I think the thermaltake g42 is the best case on the market after the rebates. Front usb 3.0, at least 1 5.25 ext drive bay, large side window, top rad support, tool less drive cage/bays, 40 bucks. Great case
How about this as my first build? http://pcpartpicker.com/user/TheWhitestTrash/saved/QkknTW
I think once the fury gpu drops in price, you will see more build like this. It has some upgrade-ability such as adding more ram. Some games are just starting to use 6 cores so the processor should be fitting for many years, also 240gb ssd for the os and visual studios (adobe/microsoft/sony), office, along with some main games. Also the 3tb HDD would operate as a saving area and should be large enough. The cpu cooler is air cooled and almost reaches 100 cfm and sticks with the colorway. I think the psu is ok, it shouldn't be stressed to hard, there is about 100 watts of room for spikes.
I would also recommend buying windows 7 pro with key for 60 bucks on ebay, to get the free update to windows 10 pro.
This is guide for others since I cannot afford this, it's also hard to search the guides for individual parts. Hopefully they can improve on this.
Anyone know the build reference lol?
Check out the revision.
I agree, the mobo/psu are overpriced.
I think it should be included in their price lists.
What about their online site?
ASUS R7 370 OR EVGA GTX 960?
Mobo lol autocorrect changed it to moon. MOTHERBOARD
Should have gone with a 4gb evga ftw gtx 960 for 20-30 bucks more. How do you like the moon?
Get the gigabyte Wi-Fi card. It is a great card and supports Bluetooth if I am correct.
I am planning on building a 6350 build. What do you think of my parts list? Also, won't a 960 ftw basically perform the same as a 970 ftw for $100 less? How do you like the fan controller? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/n6Q77P
He did include an operating system, monitor and a Wi-Fi card. Most builds on this site leave those out.
I have been changing build specs for a while now and I decided to do an apu build this year and a CPU + dedicated graphic build next year when the Zen CPU series is released. (Two different computers)
I changed the (mobo + optical) and (ram + rom) because I want components that work with each other to be of the same brand. Just so software setup might be easier. Its just an idea. I would like to have (Virtu Universal MVP) on the mobo so I can throw a cheap gpu on for improved gaming if the igpu wasn't enough. And I noticed the ASUS board doesn't have that so I will try to find a board that does.
As for the case it doesn't really matter to me, but I would like front USB 3.0/1. I would really like a corsair case/psu/fans but that will probably increase my cost by a bunch. Are the raidmax psi really faulty, I heard about people having problems with theme? Thanks
I made some changes to my build idea. I included an ssd and upgraded to a newer case along with a higher frequency ram. I also went with an ASUS mobo and an ASUS optical drive.
How do you like the 7870k?
How's this build? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/TrfLXL
