nice build :) as for the fans, if there's a spot to put some, fill them all up! haha, just think about airflow, typically it's fresh air in from the front (and bottom if there's a spot) and out the back :)

if you had read the description, he said that they didn't have his graphics card on the list, so I'm guessing he just threw a random on in there

buy why would he save the money for a lesser CPU if he wanted the performance? Sure he could've saved just a bit and gotten a 8530 or even a 6300, but in all honesty they don't compare to a i5

(i don't know how to do the pound symbol on my american keyboard, my bad) but 45 pounds = about $75 so how is that cheaper? the 6300 for 80 pounds is about $134 converted (and to buy it's about $117)

Well 1866 ram would've been best, 2133 and 2400 are just squeezing a tad bit more out, but not as much worth it

Well he said steambox so i thought he was running linux, and even with Wine it's such a big hastle, and if it's a steambox he'll be running the setam OS so he'll already have things set up, it's just wether the makers port it to linux or not

Nice build :) you should've gone with at least a semi-modular PSU if your every building in a smaller case, in a full tower it's not as much of a problem. +1 from me though :) have fun waiting until dev's port their games over to linux :p

Bringing that i7 over was a good choice, and going with the Z77 chipset was good because the Z87 just isn't what you need. 8Gb for $40? damn. good deal :) Rocking that 760 eh? +1

I must ask, I've never heard of Inno3D. Who is that? otherwise good build. Why the 1KRPM HDD? for that much you could've either spent it for a better SSD, just saved that much money, or went with 2 or 4 more TB of sotrage. Other then that, good build man +1

Comment reply on xxnoodl3zxx's Completed Build: MY FIRST GAMING RIG!!!

Good build man, +1 whenever you can go for a 760 so you can SLI it because the 750/750Ti is NOT able to, and the 760 is a higher performance card :) and the 410 is a mid tower, try taking a look at some of the full towers lol now THOSE are huge

Comment reply on xxnoodl3zxx's Completed Build: MY FIRST GAMING RIG!!!

Naw, the only advantage from the i7 is the HyperThreading. Programs are able to use those extra cores, while games aren't optimized for it so if your primary focus is gaming an i5 is great, and the 4670K is PERFECT, you can OC it and squeeze a litte bit more performance outta it

Very nice build +1 Good case, one of my personal favorites besides the H440 from NZXT. what's the speed on those SSD's like? haha and how's that LIGHTNING card going for you? I don't think i'll go for the lightning, seems like too much extra premium

Yea, true that. I plan on getting a H440 for my new main build, it's a really good case but it's a bit on the premium side ($120) but i love it and i plan on keeping it for a VERY long time. Can't wait to see the next one man!

I forgot where i read it, but the 430 was a bit dangerous, if it doesn't damage then by no means replace it, but it was just a warning. kinda funny how there's a 430 and a 450W, but i wonder why they don't make the "premium" looking PSU's for the lower watts, just because it's a low-power system i still want it looking nice and not having so much extra un-used power

Like the other guy said, i thought you meant the movie "Her" it's about a guy who dates a computer.... aco taco lol good build :) a case like the Source 210 would've been better for the price, it's a very aggressively priced case with many good features. What's that SATA and Molex chip do? above the HDD cage?

Comment reply on Ostego160's Completed Build: The Werewolf

Good build man +1 it makes so much more sense with why you chose AMD over Intel, utilizing those extra cores. But why the Razer Kraken Pro's? I know you said light audio work but they're said to be very bassy and boomy. And a bit more tidying on those cable's wouldn't hurt :)

Comment reply on impulse2010's Completed Build: My second build ( both builds within a months time.. lol ) but this one was for my GF.

Ah, we meet again, but this time it's your greatly choiced lower end Girlfriends, build. It seems very suffice for what she will be doing. And yes, a case is a big investment, it's what houses all of your vital components and it's what you'll be looking at every day. Good cchoices on the parts, but the 430 i would be careful on, i forgot who but it wasn't designed by Corsair even though they carry it, there are some dangers with that CX 430, i'd reccomend getting a different PSU, other then that i think the build is great :) faster ram ~1866 is better to have because of the APU also

Good choice on the parts and the budget, for a bit i thought the GPU was a 750 haha other then that the only thing i'd have to say is that PSU has to go lol wouldn't want a random fire, other then that +1 :)
