Forum Topic "Second Language?"

Synchro 2 Builds 3 points 2 days ago

I wish I knew another language fluently

I'm a Native American, and I'm really wanting to learn the language (Ponca Tribe)

I Know some words here and there, but nowhere near fluent. It's a dying language I believe :/

Forum Topic "1440p 144hz"

Synchro 2 Builds 1 point 29 days ago

Hm maybe

From what I'm seeing, you won't be getting the full 144 FPS on max settings with the 2070, but you will be at 70+ FPS pretty much the whole time. You could also lower some settings, but then of course you won't be at max settings.

But to be honest, Antialiasing isn't really that useful at higher resolutions, so you could lower or even turn AA off completely. Just some forethought

Forum Topic "1440p 144hz"

Synchro 2 Builds 1 point 29 days ago

Really your best bet would be the RTX 2070/2080

The 2070 is somewhere between the 1080/ti in terms of performance.

Forum Topic "pc wont turn on?"

Synchro 2 Builds 2 points 29 days ago

Another couple of suggestions you might check out

  1. Make sure the power supply switch is set to on. (This happens more often than you may think)

  2. Make sure your 24 pin connector is properly secured.

And of course the front panel pin may also be the issue as Steven stated

Synchro 2 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

yup For some games you may have to reduce something here or there. If it comes to that, just turn anti aliasing down/off. To me that's the least noticeable quality change

Forum Topic "Are Ryzen stock coolers any good?"

Synchro 2 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

The Ryzen stock coolers are actually pretty decent compared to the ones that Intel provide.

And I know you said you won't overclock, but the stock coolers are actually good enough enough for light to moderate overclocking with no issues. Just to give you a performance idea. You'll be more than fine

ThoughtA's Build Guide: Portable LAN Build

Synchro 2 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

I know this is two days ago, but im gonna throw some knowledge your way

One, the CPU in your list comes with an adequate CPU cooler, so that's another $28 you can save

Secondly, for any Ryzen based CPU, dual channel memory is almost a must by this point. By going with a single 8gig stick, you're just losing out on a considerable amount of performance. You can find a 2x4gig set for about the same price, even less.

Forum Topic "I've tried everything."

Synchro 2 Builds 3 points 2 months ago

To start, are you 100% sure you put the CPU in correctly? (Not saying you did it wrong, it's just best to get the easier stuff out of the way first)

You may want to consider removing it and checking for any bent or damaged pins.

Secondly, make sure you have the CPU power connectors properly inserted. I'm not 100% certain it'd stop it from booting, but it's always worth a try

ThoughtA's Build Guide: Entry Level Intel Gaming Build

Synchro 2 Builds 9 points 2 months ago

Because prices for older parts tend to rise because they're no longer in production, so you'll effectively be paying more for less unless you buy it used.

Neither of those sound appealing to most people. The i3 is for the most part on par with older generation i5's

There's still some benefit with having an unlocked motherboard with a locked CPU.

For instance, syncing all cores will give all cores the turbo boost benefit.

Secondly, if he wanted, he could easily sell off the 8700, and get an 8700k to take full advantage.

The question is whether or not it's worth it to the buyer

Nathan_toast's Completed Build: First Build

Synchro 2 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

Your point?

Forum Topic "Why is it that some parts do not list a price ?"

Synchro 2 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

It's because they're out of stock, I believe. There's no price for the website to display.

You can click the gear icon thing and manually enter the price you paid (or any price, really) and that will effect the total price

Nathan_toast's Completed Build: First Build

Synchro 2 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

You can sync all cores with a Z370 board, so all cores will benefit from the turbo boost. So it's roughly the same thing

Forum Topic "NVidia Quadro 6000 6GB GDDR5 PCIE 384-bit VIDEO CARD GRAPHICS CARD"

Synchro 2 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

Just because it's selling for so much new, does NOT mean it's worth that much used.

Its an old card, over 8 years old I believe. The reasons it's selling new for much is because there's no more production for the card, and the prices rises as supply falls

You can build your entire system without putting it in. It wont work, obviously, but there's no harm in putting it in last. You can mount the radiator and stuff, just don't try to mount the cold plate to the socket.

Forum Topic "i7 4930k Opinions"

Synchro 2 Builds 2 points 4 months ago

That i7 is definitely going to keep you going for at least another couple years. 6 cores, 12 threads, overclockable. I wouldn't worry if i were you.

As for performance, I'd say download something like Cinebench r15, and you can compare results to whatever you choose with a simple search online. For example, my i5-4670k scores about 648 when overclocked.

You got yourself a pretty swell system
