Comment reply on Forum Topic "rx 560 sapphire dual fan 4gb for my dell optilex 790 to run heavy games?"

  • 3 points

The 560 is a fairly low end card, and the cpu is rather dated.

You'll be able to run the latest games, but don't expect more than 1080p low-medium at best for some newer games

There should be places labeled on the board itself.

The fan headers should be something like CHfan or Fan or something along those lines.

Then for the Lighting, im not 100%. I would check the motherboard manual if you have not yet done so

Comment reply on Forum Topic "What Qualifies a "Budget Build"?"

  • 3 points

Budget build is kind of a vague term, in my opinion. I feel it gets thrown around kind of loosely.

Budget could be anything really.

  • I have a budget of $600

  • I have a budget of $1600

  • I have a budget of $300

Instead of saying

"I'm trying to put together a budget PC"

it could be

"I'm trying to put together a low (mid, or High) budget PC at around insert amount of money here* "

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Is this a good PC? If not, fix it. <$325"

The 3570 should still do an acceptable job for a game like fortnite, but newer stuff like Battlefield 5, or red dead 2, is where you might see some issues

You're severely underestimating that card.

It'll easily do medium to high at 60+

Easily 1440p max settings on both games.

However, it is strongly recommended that you get at the very least 3000Mhz speed RAM, preferably 3200. Then get 2 x 8GB sticks so you can have 16 gigs of it, because 8 nowadays is kind of lacking. It will work, but it's not preferable for gaming.

I really only care for Instagram and Facebook, as they're the only two I use. I just share stupid memes on Facebook, and use messenger as my primary way of communication. For my Instagram, it's just mirror selfies and desperation.

I can't do tik tok, it just seems weird to me I guess. Like a wannabe Vine.

driven in cities, highways, rural areas, flat areas, and areas with steep hills.

I 100% would not survive lol

Biggest advice I can give is that if you are only borrowing a car or driving a friends car to learn, you will never get truly comfortable. You have to do it daily for a while to force yourself to become confident with the motions and when to shift

I understand that. We're going to try and get it out and about for practice as often as possible, so maybe i'll pick up on it at a decent pace.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "My new PC started stuttering all of a sudden?"

Stuttering, maybe it needs speech lessons?

The first thing I would check is to see if there are any driver updates for anything. Graphics card, CPU, motherboard bios, chipset, anything you can find.

Secondly, reseat what you can. Power everything down, unplug the power cable. Then unplug the extra power from the gpu, pull it out and reset it back in. Same for the memory

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Reason for slow PC?"

  • 1 point

My first guess would be the storage drives

I'm assuming windows is installed on a hard drive, and judging by the age of the hardware, i'd guess it's an older hard drive.

My advice in that case is to buy a solid state drive, and clone the hard drive data over to the solid state drive (I personally have never done that, another person should be able to point you in the right direction.) Or, you can just start all over again with a fresh install onto the solid state drive. Either option will dramatically increase system responsiveness, and windows boot times will be faster

A tip to try is to run Disk Cleanup, and the Disk De-fragment programs, both of which are preinstalled with windows 10, and see if that helps any

My second theory, could be the CPU (i5-2400s) the "S" mean's it's a lower power chip, so it run slower compared to the standard i5-2400, this is less likely the issue, but it is a possibility. Please let me know if you have questions

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Where to Install Windows"

  • 2 points

If you can afford it, i would get a small SSD to install windows on alternatively. Your computer will boot into windows waaaay faster, and general usage will feel snappier.

Something like this would be an alright, cheap option.

But if you're set on installing it to one of the hard drives, i would put it on the 1TB drive. It doesn't really matter which one, it's just personal preference

Then it would be the in game settings.

Also make sure the game, windows, and your gpu drivers are all up to date as well

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Ray-Tracing Software"

You need a video card that has the software capability for ray-tracing

For example, any Nvidia card with RTX in the name (RTX 2060, 2070, etc)

Then the game actually has to have the feature integrated, like Battlefield 5, or even Minecraft.

That would be fine, typically the front and bottom of the case is for air intake, and the top and back of the case are for exhaust.

Are you going to keep the stock fans on the front of the case?

Because those front fans as intake+ two fans at the bottom as intake + AIO fans and rear fan as exhaust would be a pretty good setup

Hey man, glad you overall had a really good year

My year was a big mix of ups, but mainly downs. Like I got my first apartment, which was really awesome at first. Then now I'm starting to realize how garbage these apartments are.

I got a job offer as an IT assistant for a Tribal Government, which is really awesome and where I have been working the past 6 months.

Got my first tattoo also, which admittedly, the guy didn't do too fantastic on a part of it. It's fine unless you really take time to look at it.

Finally got a nice little car that's actually reliable (2004 Honda Civic EX)

Other than that, that's really all I got. Everything else was kinda sucky and/or just any normal boring day. Lost some friends, lost respect for my uncle. Fun stuff like that

But it certainly would not hurt to have one, you can get them as low as $5 or so on eBay

First thing I’d do is pull the cmos battery from the board, and wait about 5ish minutes then put it back in. Should reset the bios back to default

If that doesn’t work, then there’s another issue afoot

It should have no issue with 8 gigs or more at all. 99.9% of motherboards today can support up to like, 128GBs or more I believe.

So that's what leads me to believe there is an issue with the memory you bought.

However, just out of curiosity, you are putting the two 8GB sticks and the 2nd and 4th slot right?

Comment reply on Forum Topic "HELP I GOT NEW RAM AND ITS BOOT LOOPING MY PC"

It might be beneficial to check the website of whoever made your motherboard, in this case, i think Krait is MSI, and check the downloads page for you specific motherboard. Maybe there's a new bios/UEFI version to download. I doubt that's the issue, but it definitely would not hurt

If you can, try the newer 8GB sticks in another system that uses DDR4 memory and see if they work there

Otherwise, i would just assume that they are dead on arrival.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "HELP I GOT NEW RAM AND ITS BOOT LOOPING MY PC"

Buying a new one won't really correct the issue

From what I'm reading, you have two 8gb sticks, and two 4gb sticks, right?

If the two new sticks are both boot looping, even on their own, i would arrange to have them returned for a refund.

Do the 4gb sticks work just fine?

Look on your motherboard, and you should see the cmos battery, remove that, wait like 5 minutes and place it back in. It may work if they have different timings, but it will run with whatever is lesser than the other. But that's if it works to begin with
