Just fyi I wasn't intending to imply that the listed costs were incorrect for the items, just that the total cost was exorbitant. Good to know that the parts were sponsored.

And please understand, the 99% of my comment was otherwise intended as compliment! Really, that is just a remarkable build!

Actually, I think blower style gpus make more sense than the double/triple fan models. Blower models intake cooler air and then exhaust the hotter air directly out of the case (chamber). Where as the 2/3 fan models dump the hot air into the case (chamber) that raises the interior ambient temperature.

Purposefully dumping hot air into the case (chamber) is just a really bad choice/decision in my opinion.

This is particularly true if you are going to top mount a radiator which is attempting to cool the radiator by pulling air from the case (chamber). The cooling of a radiator is more efficient the greater the temperature difference is (radiator vs cooling air).

I submit to you that the best cooling design utilizes this principle: UP and OUT.

Dude, this is it! A super-nicely executed unconstrained small(er) form factor build!

Features that I align with:

Small(er) form factor - I want a small footprint. I don't like/want a colossus block sitting beside me, particularly coming from beautiful iMac. Nor do I want to compromise with a Mini-ITX (limited RAM).

Micro-ATX - full RAM small form factor MOBO. I do not like mini-ITX for the reason that it is limited RAM. I will/want to eventually max out RAM to keep system viable over time.

TOP radiator - heat rises, duh, and i'm not going to fight the laws of thermodynamics. I cringe at the thought of exhausting heat INTO the case. Heat exchange is more efficient the greater the temp difference is (eg cool air in/warm air out versus warm air in/warm air out). I will roll simple AIO for $ value though I admire those who step up to custom cooling

noRGB - totally a personal preference, to each their own, but i'm a grown-up and prefer a tasteful solid well executed unassuming (kick azz) build.

1080Ti - though i might roll 1080 or even 1070 for value (and upgrade later - maybe). Man I hope AMD can get competitive...we are all being raked over the coals by Nvidia.

27" 1440 144Hz IPS - check (though I would be happy to see OLED sneak in to mainstream soon!?!? :) )

SSD boot - Samsung 960 EVO - I will prolly roll PRO 512M for $ value.

SSD storage - Samsung 850 EVO - I will prolly roll 1TB for $ value. Might??? even stick to hard drive again for $ value.

Note - I mention this for your feedback: I am considering FRONT - IN fans only, BOTTOM - IN fans only, TOP - OUT radiator only?? for GPU (thick 240/280mm) unless there is room for fans also, TOP BACK - OUT 120/140mm radiator CPU. So basically COOL air IN, WARM air OUT. Again, if there isn't room for fans on top radiator, then I will rely on the forced air from Front/Bottom along with thermal property of heat rising to create air flow through top radiator. But I want to keep fans on lower/quieter settings. What are your thoughts?

Dude, very nice build indeed! Well done Sir!

I am bookmarking this build for future reference.

I love the idea of ITX (small form factor) but i have major issue with limiting RAM by 2 slots.

I love the the Nano if for one major point, smaller foot print but taller for twin cooler up top...heat rises, duh fractal design.

But i will say, I totally dig your parts list inc the 7700k/ 1080ti-hybrid. nice my man.

+1 for well thought out and well executed N1 case build.

Man I just don't think that I can roll mini ITX primarily, perhaps solely, due to being limited to just 2 memory slots. Maxing memory is an option that I want for "future proofing"...just 2 more slots in all that i ask! Otherwise your build is spot on for me.

That N1 case... That mobo...ponders mini ITX

3 x PG278Qs!!! Not sure the purpose in having 3 x 144Hz screens. Not sure that 980Ti's could actually due justice to 3 x 144Hz screens if somehow it mattered. But at least they match (which I agree does matter/preferred).

That being said...I do definitely dig your system and acknowledge the research and execution in your build and water loop. Well done Sir!

So you are obviously trying to get your money's worth here on PCPP with a second posting.

From the Black Winter post...

Dude, you gotta post info on your screens! Are those 3 x 1440s plus a 4k TV?

Whatever they are, which do you game on? And how does the single 1080 handle it? FPS examples etc.

And I should also say kudos for a very nicely done get up, and hardline cooling.
