The performance of the different models is within 5% of eachother, so it's not too bad off. Even 1440p isn't horrible on the 3gb

You can get the 1700 to 4ghz on water. If you're gonna do any content creation, photo editing etc. The Ryzen processor would be a much better fit.

How's modded mc running for you? I had issues with low frame rates in it and was wondering if anyone else was having issues

I feel like you could get something alot beefier for overclocking at that price. If you're not overclocking it will be fine.

I'd probably get a different cooler. Otherwise great build, will last you a very long time.

You'll be fine. The g4560 is a great bang for buck processor. You might notice a little stutter due to lack of threads, but it wouldn't be bad.

If you're shooting for 4k, I'd shoot for a ryzen processor, as a bottleneck will pretty much disappear completely from the cpu at that resolution. Considering a ryzen 7 1700, as it is a good bang for your buck processor. And I know you're doing it for aesthetics, but 32GB is way to much RAM if you're gaming. Considering 4x4GB instead, if possible. I have realized there is no 4GB kits for RGB RAM, ignore comment. For storage, definitely shoot for either a hard drive/SSD combo or a 1 TB SSD. 500 GB will definitely not be enough. It looks like you plan on water cooling so I will leave the GPU alone. I'd say everything else is good, unless you have room for a second monitor. Would definitely recommend at least dual monitors.

Well amd packs alot more cores into their processors for cheaper. The ipc is a little lower but it's still great price/performance. For the price of the i5 you could had gotten a 4c/8t processor from amd or a 6c/12t for like $16 more

Fair enough, it's pretty buggy right now, although I didn't get near the results others were getting in bemchmarks, I was getting +5fps over everyone with the same specs and same settings. So I don't know, we'll see how it goes and how the r5 and r3 series launches

have you tried pushing the overclock any more on the CPU on stock cooler? I want to see what others are getting for the stock cooler, it seems pretty good. I pushed my 1700 to 4.03 GHz on it, but it gets a little toasty. Great build though, id +50 it if I could. EDIT: Is that an LED panel on the bottom of your case? I NEEEEDDDD IIITTTT

I would probably go for the 5820k then. Even if x99 mobos are more expensive the 6820k provides 2 extra hyper threaded cores which is worth it in my opinion

I'm gonna be downgrading my bios so I can overclock the i3 using the baseclock method. And it also adds an upgrade path anyways.

I have an M9 for my i7 rig it runs everything super cool so I approve

I ordered the 450 watt because I don't think my clients going to need to upgrade much in the future
