Comment reply on Forum Topic "Is tech more durable now pr in the past?"

Thing is, yes, hdd's are fragile. But, I actually don't ever damaging any of my hdd's bc of rough handling, just old age and improper use. And trust me, I have handled a lot of my hdd's roughly.

Onto motherboard's and other PCB stuff, yes, they are much stronger than they used to be, in fact that was a mission of a lot of manufacturers and others followed suit.

Old tech can also be pretty surprising i've found in terms of durability.

Well, there isn't even thermal paste on the processor rn. We have already started looking at the parts and I just put it all back together for the pictures. Lol I left for two seconds and dad had the cooler back on only backwards. The fan can jus be flipped anyways.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "How Tough/Easy is it to Upkeep a PC Build?"

  • 3 points

It's actually not hard or expensive at all. Parts tend to have much longevity, though in comparison to other, newer parts, they can look quite piddly. For instance, the gtx 690 is almost still relevant enough to play many modern AAA games. So, upgrades is mainly a choice of your own.

In terms of cleaning the inside of the case, you want to clean it like once a month to be nice to your PC(in my eyes this is too much lol), I personally clean mine like every three months LOL

Yeah, it would be good for those limited set of users.

But, yeah, in a business perspective the demand wouldn't match the supply.
