Thanks! It is pretty sweet.
Lovely set up. Good job based on price point. I have the V21 and I've enjoyed it for some time now. However I do plan to downsize with the NZXT H200I as the start. Good job.
...... I knew that. XD
Ah yeah I guess it depends on the game but I'm mostly jumping between FPS, RTS, or Survival games. On FPS it's controller for the most part and everything else is mouse. What controller do you use?
Ah nice overclock going there. I just had a Mad Catz M. but I ended up get a Logitech G303 and I love it. Most of my fps games I play with an xbox one controller other than Squad because I'm use to the keyboard and mouse set up and rather not switch it up now. Vega is something I am curious about and I'll end up making another small AMD build in the near future for a friend but we'll see.
Fair enough. I was a huge fan of freesync too but I converted when the 1070 came out.
Eh more like 3-6 fps but yes the difference isn't by much. If nothing else he could have gone with something with a bit more flair to it. For example the Corsair Vengeance LED 16GB would do the job and not for much more either. (https://pcpartpicker.com/product/PxH48d/corsair-vengeance-led-16gb-2-x-8gb-ddr4-2666-memory-cmu16gx4m2a2666c16r)
Well Jweeksg26 I don't **** my couch even if I did that's not your concern and always piss excellence. XD Good looking build btw I'm enjoying the hellish black and red colors. I am however confused why you didn't just go with SLI 1070s or 1080s but hell no need to get in a pissing contest over it. Along with the ungodly amount of fans which I'm sure could even chill my ex's heart further I'm impressed with the monitor set up. I can feel a distance thought that custom watercooling could come into this but don't want to make that guess just yet. Another thing I realize as I was browsing your godly amount of parts is the unrealistic amount of RAM my goodness man you just can't even stop when most already have their pants down just looking at this. Purely beautiful.
I'm lovin the build but some items brought up some curiosities as well. First off why did you run with 16GB of DDR4-2133 when you could spend an extra $30-40 and get DDR4-3200? Also I'm curious about the Ultra 4K with Paragon, Wow, Dota2, LOL, and Skyrim. I'm gonna be an *** and I don't mean to be but I've tried to play Skyrim at 4K with my i7-6700K @ 4.5GHz with a GTX 1070 and I got about 50ish fps. However this was before they did a **** ton of those updates so I haven't tried it on the TV since. If you are getting at least 40+ frames then I'll give it another go. Another quick thing I would just make the full conversion to PC for at least GTA and Battlefield because the consoles just don't do them justice. Other than that I'm a fellow lover of RTS (Total War Series, Stellaris, Company of Heroes, and Men of War Assault Squad 2) so maybe we'll fight to the death one day. May your nights be filled with victories! Cheers.
Bigger summary would be nice. I do like the color pallet that you've got going. However I'm curious why you went with a R9 290X considering how many other great choices there are. Also that Mad Catz R.A.T. mouse is not one I've seen for awhile. Any overclocking with this build or did we just do water-cooling for looks? I am impressed with the setup and the clean look. +1 (for now).
Looks awesome and I've got a very similar build now (Need to update my Carpe Noctem on here). Only big difference is that I paid for 16 GB DDR4-3200 for the same price you got your 2133s.
Hell yeah man! Looks great! Thanks for the details on the Nano I'll definitely look more into it when planning to upgrade my GPU later this year. That glass side panel is pretty nice (a lot better than mine). The radiator on the outside isn't the best but understandable in this case. +1 bro and enjoy!
Hell yeah man! That's pretty sweet. Sadly I couldn't connect all 5 of my fans at the moment because I need a "fan connection extension" the connect my 4-Pin PWM Power Distribution PCB - 6-Way Block. It's like $2-3 bucks but with Performance-PCs they charge for shipping so I'm going to keep it this way for a little while.
Windows 10 is pretty much Windows 7 & 8 had a baby.
FELIX CULPA - a felix culpa is literally a "happy fault" or Vox Populi - "Voice of the people". Both very interesting different names that I was thinking of using for my build before I went with Carpe Noctem. Great parts list can't wait to see it. When it's built send me the link I'll check it out.
I love Latin phrases and culture, so it was the best name since I'm a night owl for the most part.
Well that sounds great but I'm thinking of sticking with AMD because I do enjoy use their products. And I'm not fond of spending an additional $200 plus for a monitor since I'm already connected to the living room TV. I am however thinking of upgrading to a 50 or 55 inch and selling my current. And Yes R.I.P. Paul Walker even though your death was sketchy.
Ooooo please let me know. I was wanting one but I was limited on the funds I could spend.
YEAH! (Secretly upgraded to Windows 10 Pro)
Right! It's pretty neat that they designed it differently than the 200 series. I had a XFX 260X and I didn't like the silver trim.
Haha. I'm going to look into it more. Since I'm only gaming at 1080p and I'll stay that way for awhile I'm thinking Polaris but we'll see.
Wait a minute....I thought you couldn't OC any processors that are "K" in the Skylake series? Please for the love of PC parts change that power supply. My God Man! 550W Of Power Supply For A R9 390!!!!! (And OC'ed CPU)
Look in the direction of EVGA (G2/P2) or Cosair (RM, HXi, or AXi) PSUs they both have reliable power supplies and fully modular for easier cable management. After that I would either move in the direction of adding another 8 GB of RAM since some newer games are recommending it or getting a better CPU cooler if you need it. But do what you gotta do!
Nice job, bro! Bet your mother was surprised or impressed. Now that you've built your PC the upgrading will never stop if you want to keep up with the latest but you should be good for awhile. Enjoy!
No problem. DO IT! Lol I'm in mid-build now so I'll be posting it in the next week/two weeks (when I get the parts in/paid). If you want you can wait and I'll have some in my build to see.
Good Job! Like the OD Green case but it wouldn't work well with my setup.. You should look into getting an aftermarket cooler for temps nothing too expensive. Maybe some lighting for cosmetics both of which you can get for $50-100 depending on what you are going for. +1
:O begone demon! Lol Jk I'm not much for DayZ it takes forever to get started decently. But if you are playing GTA V and Fallout 4 it's a keeper.
But can it run Crysis? Lol I agree. You don't need an i5, 16 GB of ram, GTX 960, or triple monitors for CSGO. I play(ed) CSGO on my FX-4300 & R7 370 setup just fine.
Hell Yeah man! For $20 I'd do it.
No problem. RGB would look good not so sure about UV might be hard to do without spending too much. Look around on www.performance-pcs.com that's where I find parts I've never seen and get some of my ideas from.
Awesome sauce! Good job. I'm like the color but maybe look into some Hue for extra glamour. Maybe add some BITFENIX Multi-Sleeved cables for the extra style (http://www.performance-pcs.com/bitfenix-multi-sleeved-cables). Other than that I'm excited for you. Researching always fun but the blood, sweat, and tears are what forms the PCMasterRace.
I don't know I've got a XFX R7 370 OC'ed (don't have Witcher 3 or a FX 8320 (I have a FX 4300)) but it runs most games pretty decently. Here is a review of the XFX R7 370: http://www.digitaltrends.com/video-card-reviews/amd-radeon-r7-370-review/#/2-4. I can promise you it isn't running that at 1440p or 4K but it might be able to do it given it doesn't bottleneck.
Ah thank you good sir.
So smooth! So blue! Lol +1 I'm not seein a motherboard on the parts list but isn't that gigabyte? What's your benchmarks?
What benchmarks are you running with the 6300 & 270X? I've currently have a 4300 & 370 which runs most games decently but I plan to upgrade my CPU to at least a 6300 (hopin' for a 8320). Good build love the cables but I don't think I would pay $150.00 for them. I'll stick to CableMod lol. +1
So...many...stickers... Great build like the stickerbomb case I bet that took some time.
I'm not aware of this. I'll do some research on this I'm not very familiar with the newer Intel processors. I've been using AMD for years so honestly this is the only guide/build I'm working on with an Intel processor. New Info Yes Crimsonlich I didn't know this but you are correct. It can allow it but very limited if it will at all. So this might be best to get a i-5 6600 for about $15 less.
Hope so fingers crossed. Thanks for trying to help!
If you want you can spend bit more to get a (MSI GTX 960 4GB) and get 60 FPS on BF4: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-gtx9604gd5toc. There is also a review here:http://www.hardocp.com/article/2015/08/04/msi_geforce_gtx_960_gaming_4g_video_card_review/8#.Vt4KdPkrKM8. You can go with a little cheaper model but I pick this to keep the same color scheme going.
Depends. If you are running at 1600x900 resolution then you're looking at an average of 58.6 FPS. If you are running at 1920x1080 (most gaming monitors and Tvs) it would be 44.9 FPS. I've played on both High and Ultra on BF4 and it's not much different you can see the difference slightly but not that much. Consoles use a mix between medium and high I believe. TechPowerUp gives a good review here: https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_950_Gaming/10.html for ultra settings.
I've physically disconnected the faulty drive, didn't work. I've changes SATA ports, didn't work. I've bought a new drive (disconnected the rest), didn't work. I'm thinking it's the motherboard but I'm not 100% because I'm not getting a beep code. I would put the RAM back but that was the original reason to switch. I've put some cheap 4GB RAM from a older office PC in and still no luck. This computer is dead and it isn't coming back. I don't know anything else to do, I've got a date with Geek Squad to do a full diagnostic.
Well that didn't work. It would POST then act like it was loading Windows then restart. After a few times of this it gave me the error code for a failed hard drive. So I decide to reinstall Windows on a different drive (I've got two). It would get into the part of installing the software then restart. I've tried both disk and USB. I've searched the web for solutions without much success. This morning I contacted Geek Squad to see if they could run a full diagnostic on the system but without $150.00 that isn't happening. I'd rather not spend money on that unless I have to.
Check AMD's Polaris too. With the Polaris release it seems like half the power for double the performance for similar price/performance over Nvidia.
Awesome light. Buddha! I think that a 2-way SLI might be worthy :) +1
Done that this morning. Windows still won't boot properly. I've got the disk so I'll see if I can boot from disk then repair the Windows that way. Only issue I've seen so far is that it won't always say "Press any key to boot Windows from CD-ROM" (when it does it won't) and sometimes it will try go straight to Windows. I'm thinking that with me trying to troubleshoot the RAM issue I screwed up my Windows/boot via BIOS but I'm not 100% how I would do that. I'm lost for words on what to do.
XD well then works for me. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
That makes sense then and I'm sorry for calling you out. 720p with 60+fps on Fallout 4 with a 750Ti makes sense. I don't see how that makes sense that your 750Ti beats my 260X because they are pretty close in fps on 1080p with res of 1920/1080 (what I use). In Battlefield 3 the 750Ti runs at 44.9 fps and the 260X runs at 40.1 fps. In Bioshock Infinite the 750Ti runs at 60.3 fps and the 260X runs at 50.9 fps. In Metro Last Light the 750Ti runs at 31.1 fps and the 260X runs 28.8 fps. So really they aren't that far apart, yes yours is better by a little but not enough to run laps around mine. Please research/explain further if you decide to claim something in the future. (if you are curious TechPowerUp did reviews on both.)
Well you must be one lucky person because I've looked up some benchmarks on the 750Ti on Fallout 4 here: http://www.gamersnexus.net/game-bench/2177-fallout-4-pc-video-card-fps-benchmark-all-resolutions and here: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2015-the-best-pc-hardware-for-fallout-4-4023. Now I'm not saying you aren't but this isn't helping your case. Now as for the build you provide me above is not bad. Your PSU is the worst but hey no worries since it's a $15 PSU. Other than that it's a good starter. And as for your "I can speak from experience with a budget because my system I built early january for $350 and it could probably run laps around yours" **** move.
