ssd is from where?! and pretty good for your first build, im guessing you'll be gaming mildly on it :) a lot of people will say the 550 ti is a little expensive (which imo is), you should have gone for a 6850, or 6770 and then crossfire. ps... no stock coolers are good -__-" nice parts!

Futureproofing, i remember when ddr came out, someone said "we'll never use more than 2MB of ram EVER" and look at us now: we'll never en up using 12 GB. Quite frankly, 12 is enough for ten years down the road.

awesome case aint it? i used it in my build (the blue one) xD i shouldve gone for the 560 ti 448 cores... it went on a crazy sale lately. i got my case for 40$ o.O at ncix too!

i would also suggest mounting the fan so that the psu fan points down.

Comment reply on Inklor's Completed Build: Shadow Minion

its cuz you have 4gb pf ram; it causes WEI to limit your scores to 5.9. unless this was a super budget system, you cant expect much. the GPU is really outdated... idk why u even boought it, and the PSU. Why waste your money..... tbh i only like the moniter.

your parts dont seem as balanced, for example, you bought a beast case, but put in low end parts such as the GPU and PSU (not as low end, but the case is too good for such composition.) if you were willing to spend so much on the case, you shouldnt have cheaped out on the cpu, gpu, or ram.

Comment reply on ozziekid's Completed Build: First Gaming rig

I realized my scores were the same, except for hdd cuz i have and ssd. I think the 670 is a bit too much for bf3@1920x1080, i have a 560ti (u can look at my conpleted builds) and it runs bf3 at 70 fps at slightly lower resolutions while maxed out as much as possible. I agree, the psu cables are way too short.

I oc'ed my cpu to 3.8GHz btw

Comment reply on RescuedCrayon's Completed Build: The Firstborn

nope, u can install it like that, but for him he had to cuz of the darned PSU, the sata power connector is literally upside down cuz the psu was meant for a top mounted; not bottom

Not much in performance i would agree, but compatibility wouldve been better; ie USB 3.0 hearers, native pci gen 3 and sata 3, there are some great z77 mobos out there, good build though!

Kinda dangerous to OC Using a 4 pin when the mobo uses 8 x__x maybe thats why its hard to oc the apu

Considering me being 15, i think i got it on quite fast. I honestly didnt know which orientation the x bracket went, so i just went with the picture. The screws were off balance when i first screwed it in so i light did the criss cross method; screwin in each side ONE rotation at a time. I am definitely glad I got the hyper 212 as opposed to water cooling as well. The cheapest closed loop system was 70$, so might as well get the evo (it was on sale a week ago, 25$!!!) i was skeptical at first bout my temps, but then remembered that ivy bridge cpu runs hotter than sandy bridge. I dont really extreme oc, 4.4ghz? Its hard to do it on my msi board (check out my build "the blue one")... Voltage changes are just terrible haha

Hey man! The case is GREAT. For like a third of the price of the haf922, you get like the best case for the price range. The temperature reading is so easy to use, its literally a diode that you put anywhere. The case cooling is great, the hottest i can get it to is 30 degrees celcius, thats pretty cool. Usually its 23-28 :) also it comes with 4 fans; 3 led ones. I really like this case, u should get it ;)

Nice! I see a lot of people build their first computers at the age of 15/16, its a great experience. One thing to note: dont cheap out on parts, you get what what you pay for and the more you spend, the longer it would last!
