TBH I took off the front and top grill just for the pics, no other reason but to show the riing fans.
As for the 740 vs 540;
The build quality and looks on the 740 are just way better imo.
The hinged panel is very convenient and the acrylic panel looks better too.
The case is slightly larger but its so easy to work in. I have asus rog 1080ti in SLI and those are beastly cards taking 2.5 slots!
I have absolutely no regrets upgrading to the 740
I have actually changed my case to the Air 740. It is pretty awesome.
I haven't gotten time to upload pics yet
Formula is more targeted for water cooling
fans are Thermaltake riing fans
Light Editing? I believe you can only edit green light with this build
That's a solid build. Why spend so much on a headset?
you really should pair that powarful GPU with a 1440p 165hz monitor (or two) imo
+1 for the pretty fans
Awesome work, great build +1
i know. I'm trying to do better with my next build. waiting for the new corsair premium psu cables to arrive
Awesome build +1, very aesthetically pleasing.
How are your temps in this case?
Had the same CPU/GPU in my previous build (MSI GTX 980 Ti golden edition tho) with this monitor OC'd to 165 Hz.
The 980 Ti ran pretty hot and tho the Evolv TG is one of the best looking cases around IMO air flow was restrictive.
I have the same mouse pad as well but the 48"x24" size. Its pretty awesome, I have it spread over my table and keep my monitor, speakers and keep the Corsair Gaming MM200 Cloth mouse pad over that for keyboard and mouse.
I hope you enjoy that awesome monitor
Awesome build with awesome parts. +1
Personally, I would of gone for an aftermarket 1080 Ti (perhaps Asus 1080 Ti OC?) rather then spen $1,200 on the Xp. That way you could have gone for the 165Hz monitor from Acer or Asus or... The Dell is also a good monitor. Have it on my wife's setup with a single 1080.
With that beefy PSU i can only assume you are looking for an SLI in the future?
It would also be pretty awesome if Nvidia made the LED on the card RGB or at least gave a choice of 3 colours instead of that ghastly green..
Also the G502 is one of the most comfortable mouse I have ever used. Only reason I went for the G900 was for the wireless convenience...
Enjoy you high refresh rates.
+1 for the HUUUGE PSU.
I have the same PSU 850W with 2 1080 Ti's in SLI
Picture quality is absolutely awesome
Love that Mobo. Thinking of building with it.
How's it treating you?
case looks fantastic.
That's a real gaming machine
You can never forget your first...
Going for world domination I see...
+1 for all that power.
I have the Asus 1080Ti in SLI and they are also 1 1/2 wide. I have them in a Corsair Air 540 case with 3 fans in front with 2 of them connected to the fan headers on the cards blowing cool are on them. Top card peaks at arounf 72C and the bottom card stays 8C to 12C cooler. Ambient temps where I live are at 27C to 30C.
Thas also a hefty power supply. I have the 850W of the same PSU and max power draw at 99% load on both PSU come to around 630W peak.
I had tried the Evolv TG case and found the air flow restrictive. Its a beautiful case to be sure but I was not too satisfied wih it.
Like small form factor with so much power +1
I went from 1080 SLI to 1080 Ti SLI
(I know it makes no sense)
I'm a bit of a logitech mouse snob so I cannot coment on Razaer mice. Had the Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum RGB before this and to be honest I liked the fit and comfort of that mouse tho I went for this cos its wireless and I'd say (IMO) this is just as responsive as the wired mouse. Now my wife and kids use the G502 on their computer.
+1 mate. you done good there
Thats a good build you got there.
nice build +1
the Acer Predator XB271HU (TN version with G-sync)for US$ 599.00 would have been a better choice IMO
Great build +1.
I can totally believe about the Mrs. I got 2 of the non-OC cards and I nearly got thrown out of the apartment.
Thats an awesome monitor. I'm saving up for an ultra wide too
Thanks for the help guys.
SO I grabbed an NZXT USB hub from my cousin and actually connected the PSU with corsair link and this is what I got;
Idle power (GPU's at 1% & CPU at 10% 165W (wow what a surprise)
Ran Some tests;
Firestrike Ultra where the GPU usage was 99% and power peaked at 615W but was usually between 578W and 597W
Score of FSU was 11740
Firestrike Extreme where the GPU usage was 99% and power peaked at 630W but stayed below 600W most of the time
Score of FSE was 18986
PSU temps stayed at 32C (ambient temp is 28C) and calculated efficiency for PSU was 93%
Overwatch with GPU's at 65% was 558W peak
Do you get manageable temps on the CPU with the Cryorig C7?
I built an i7 6700K in an NZXT S340 with that cooler and the CPU runs pretty warm even at idle.
When I had the 1080 SLI the fans never spin but now with 1080 ti SLI as soon as I start a game the fans start spinning.
I know I can monitor the PSU wattage with this perticular unit but the thing is my mobo has only 1 USB 2 header which is taken up by the Kraken X62.
nice build. +1
And here I am running Asus 1080 ti in SLI with a 850 watt power supply... :(
you got me
Its unfortunate wife dose not come with a shut down button
(i like how you do that with the fonts and sizes)
Jane looks pretty good +1
The pic has a 1080FTW
may i know why the pump is mounted so that the NZXT logo is upsaide down?
nice build. You should put some red sleeved cables on the to do list
Thats a solid build. I'm in the process of building a rig for my kids in the NZXT S340 Black/Red and I can confirm its a very beautiful case.
Like the other guy said, a cryorig C7 would look awesome in this rig. I have it and its compact and very pretty with a white fan that would match with the aesthetics and at $30 its a good buy.
you have my +1
I have actually build a PC for my kids with the Dell and the innards here, stuffing it all in an NZXT S340 and upgraded my setup to Z270 with i7 7700K in the Air 540 with single Acer monitor.
Will upload those setups soon to PCPP, just really busy at work this month
EVGA's new iCX GPU's were released "oni" the other day. Why not one of them?
good point, i'll think about it...
I love that case. I've been eyeing it but I really was not sure I could fit in 2 1080 hybrids in there. What do you think?
Do you really need 2 Hue+ controllers or can this be done with just one using both channels?
Asking cos i'm planing on using 3 Aer fans and 4 led strips with 1 controller.
very nice build, I hope the tyres don't melt and stick to your GPU
ikr, with a 280mm radiator I should get better temps. I've actually bought the new Kraken x62 which should be arriving in a few days. I also got the cryorig c7 just to try out see wot happens...
Very nice build. Those RAM sticks look awesome. +1
Just out of curiosity, What games do you play and how many FPS do you get at decent settings with the 1070 on a 1440p monitor?
Not really decided on a graphics card for my wife's comp which has a Dell 1440p monitor.
If you want to maintain low temps, the cards with AIO coolers like the seahawk and Evga hybrid are good options.
They do not necessarily provide better performance, just low temps.
I have two evga 1080's in SLI with AIO coolers and my temps never exceed 55C even at 99% load which is awesome since I live in a tropical environment and ambient tems are at 28C.
I used to have an MSI 980Ti which would hit 80C at gaming.
Fits well, no issues at all. I had this same set up in a corsair 400C but I found cable managment very tight. I also tired the phanteks enthoo evolv atx glass. Couldn't set up the 120 rads up top so I had to use the front as exhaust but was getting high temps. I have recently ordered the phanteks enthoo pro m acrylic to try as well. So far the Corsair Air 540 is the best case I have tried
I did have a tight grip on the damn budget but somewhere along the addictive PC building process the bugger made an escape
New kit come on the market and I cannot wait to get my hands on it.
