Ksongs 2 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Hmm, I would say wait for it to go on sale.

Forum Topic "Tekken 7: Is it worth it to get?"

Ksongs 2 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

how long I the story?

At most I would say maybe 4 hours and maybe an extra hour if you include all the character stories.

Also, do you think a person with absolute experience with fighting games (besides Mortal Kombat on the Vita) could enjoy this game

I'm going to assume you meant no experience with fighting games and yes I do. A lot of new players without any experience have picked up the game and enjoyed it (including myself, and I was the guy that pressed one button to get through both mortal kombat and injustice) This is easily the most popular Tekken game released. You just have to be able to realize losing a fight is part of learning the game and isn't something you should get salty about.

I also won't have to worry about tournaments because my internet is trash, great!

I will say that if you don't plan on playing any online you might want to wait until the game is on sale as I don't think the game is worth full price if you don't plan to play online. They have an arcade mode which you fight increasingly harder enemies, treasure battle which I've talked about, and 2 player offline coop, but that is really it other than the story, so you could say the offline content as of right now is lacking, so you should take that into consideration.

If your into fighting games its definitely a solid buy. It had a solid PC launch, Its well optimized and runs great, and most haven't had issues with finding online matches. They released a patch 2 days ago that ended up hurting matchmaking, but released a rollback update this morning that fixed it due to feedback.

Its a very technical fighter and can be tough to learn as the game doesn't do a good job of helping newcomers, but it is definitely the easiest to pick up so far. I personally enjoyed the story which had beautiful cut scenes, but it is short and don't expect nether realm's level of story telling. Along with the main story each character has their own story chapter which is very short, usually one fight. There's a pretty in depth customization for characters such as hair styles, clothing, etc that must be bought with either in game currency which is earned after each battle (and very easy to get) or by unlocking them through the treasure battle game mode in which you battle a random NPC and get a random reward. A practice mode is provided and is a very powerful tool for learning the game.

For online there are ranked and non ranked matches as well as a tournament mode. There are issues with tournaments as players can rage quit which causes the total winning pool to decrease and if the host rage quits the cancels the whole tournament I believe. The ranked and non ranked matches are exactly what you'd expect. You do see a variety of characters picked as all the characters are well balanced though if your very serious you can look up a tier list online, but I will say players have won large tournaments with bottom tier characters.

If your into fighters I'd definitely recommend it.

I've heard ninjas are really fun, quick paced too. I play a 57 ranger. I originally played warrior when game first released for NA, but decided to try ranger and kept with it. I actually just came back relatively recently after quitting for a while due to getting burned out trying to reach the top (horrible mistake on my end).

Ksongs 2 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

You can even build a boat and go whale hunting.

I still haven't done this though I really want to. I'm pretty excited for when they add those big guild ships you'll be able to build. What class do you play?

Forum Topic "Would love to play a different MMO"

Ksongs 2 Builds 2 points 26 months ago

This is going to a long write up, but I'll be 100% honest with you. This game is grindy and I'm going to say pay to win (people like to argue about this).

BDO has no level cap, but there is a soft cap at level 56. This is where the game becomes grindy and many say its where the game actually begins since you get your secondary weapon ( also known as your awakening weapon) every class has a different one. It becomes much harder to level because as you upgrade your gear it becomes exponentially harder to upgrade, so this allows your gear to catch up with your level or vice versa. That being said there's more to the game than just killing mobs, Its a sandbox game you do whatever you want. There is a general story line to help guide you, but beyond that the game doesn't tell you what to do everyone figures that out for themselves. If you wanna train and breed horses go for it. Want to settle in a house set up a farm and cook stuff sure why not? This game does lack group content though. This is not WOW or SWTOR, you don't group up for dungeons and unless you join a guild or play with a friend you most likely wont be grouping with others until later in the game.

Now to the pay to win part. Most of the youtube videos or people screaming about the pay to win quit before the pay to win update ever came out or have not played it, so its slightly exaggerated. I will say its completely possible to pay to win as you can buy costumes ( with no stats except for maybe a 10% extra xp bonus) with real money and sell them for in game money. Now let me do the math for you. I have roughly average gear if you were to buy all my gear it would cost about 800m in game. BDO has a 5 item limit per week that you can buy and sell with real money. The items that give you most are outfits that sell for around 20m each and cost $30, so you can only make 100m a week (this is actually not a good amount I know many players that make many times this just by playing, even if you only play casually its possible to make more), so to become an average player it would take you $1200 and 2 months to catch up to me this way. If you wanted to be a top player the price and time it took would increase exponentially and on top of that its extrememly hard to buy top tier gear since its so rare and hard to get (sine you have to upgrade gear yourself) and everyone will compete with you to buy it.

So yeah theres more to it than this, but my post is getting really long and this will give you a rough idea. I think the games at least worth trying out I know it doesn't suit many people this is first and foremost a Korean mmo it has those gameplay aspects, but there are very few MMOs that have as good of gameplay as it and I personally love it. its currently $10 for the whole game and if you wanna try it first I'll toss you a guest pass.

Forum Topic "Black Desert Online"

Ksongs 2 Builds 1 point 30 months ago

There are 3 servers and each server has several instances which you can switch between freely. The games pretty populated. So you see them everywhere. Guilds are where your gonna get the most interaction with people as you can do guild quest such as trade routes, collecting resources, as well as guild wars which pretty much battle for control of resource nodes. You do also often see people form groups to farm for XP and of course world bosses which are extremely tough. Aside from world bosses the game is pretty solo friendly if you don't like other people. Now here's the part that makes people shy away from the game. Once you hit level 45 open world pvp is turned on and you can get attacked anywhere outside of cities and no you can't turn it off last I checked.

Forum Topic "Black Desert Online"

Ksongs 2 Builds 1 point 30 months ago

What do you do, is it fun

Super subjective, but ill say that it can be considered EXTREMELY grindy. level 40 mark I began to really feel the grind. Also a lot of the game relies on RNG and I mean RNG thats totally not on your side. I hope you have a good realtionship with RNJeusus. Also it has a pretty steep learning curve mainly in mechanics that doesn't include combat. Took me a while to figure out how nodes and resource collection worked. Its more of a sandbox mmo than a themepark one. meaning there's not really any direction. You spawn in the world and while yes there is a "main quest" you pretty much just go do what ever you want if that means go fishing or start breeding horses go for it. Don't like fighting stuff? Cool because everything you do levels you up whether its farming, fishing, cooking or actually killing stuff. Combat is fluid and fun. There isn't an mmo that I've played that has as fun as a combat system as BDO. Oh also don't know if your into it, but the game has a pretty great player housing system. Thats about everything that stand out to me that I can think of.

how is the textures and graphics?

Look up some videos I personally think its one of the best looking games out.

Forum Topic "RX480 8GB, Normal or FactoryOC ? why do the FactoryOC even exist when we can do it by ourselves?"

Ksongs 2 Builds 1 point 32 months ago

Yes it is, but that doesn't mean people will want to do it. Also yes while you can just overclock in 30 second most people who overclock take longer because they want to test for stability afterwards. They want to make sure they're using the correct voltage as in making sure that they have pushed the clock speed as far as possible with as little voltage increase as possible. Test for artifacting and over heating.

Overclocking makes new people nervous in general they don't want to mess up the GPU they just spent money on and some people don't want to put in the time.

They do it for sales and marketing. Also for people who don't want to overclock for themselves (there are a good amount of people) and a little extra power out of the box doesn't hurt anyways.

Pretty much what MoreAlphaLineGaming gaming said. They can't just add websites. They have to get information from them directly and work with them. Like with Amazon rebates, they haven't to provided the necessary information, So PCPP can't list them.

Though I'm sure you could ask them to add it again and have them see if anythings changed

Forum Topic "Elder scrolls online was it worth it?"

Ksongs 2 Builds 1 point 32 months ago

I enjoy it as both honestly. I like having the option to play it as both. Most of my time I do actually play it as a single player game, but I do run dungeons and I usually can't handle closing the giant sky holes (still can never remember what they're called) by myself. I just know a lot of people absolutely loathe that there are other people or that some things just aren't possible without other people.

Forum Topic "Elder scrolls online was it worth it?"

Ksongs 2 Builds 1 point 32 months ago

I personally love the game. I enjoy mmos so the mmo aspects don't bother me. I know some people hate the fact that they have to have other people around or they can't do other things without people. I like having people around I like getting together and and closing the rifts (I always forget what this things are called) or sometimes ill be fighting a boss and getting my *** kicked and someone will come help.I think the dungeon design is solid and I like gameplay style i think they go well together. I know some people also don't like grinding in games, but it doesn't really bother me. Hence why I'm currently playing warframe haha.

I also like the lore and getting into the story and quests is fun. Exploring is fun and finding hidden things is pretty exciting to me. I personally think the exploring aspect is going to get better when they release the one tamriel update making it so enemies scale to your level so you can go anywhere from the begining.

One of my favorite things about it though are the expansions. Zenimax in my opinion has consistently released good quality expansions and updates that add a lot cool things to the game like recently the dark brother hood and thieves guild.

So yeah I think it was worth it. I'd also like to point out I didn't pay full price for it. I bought the imperial edition for about $20 last year.

Personally I love the Black Berry Priv. I wouldn't call it the best phone out there, but I'd consider it perfect for someone like me, who doesn't use their phone all that much except to maybe browse the web or watch videos when i'm lazy.

Sports Android OS, 1440p curved screen is a plus, Solid camera nothing amazing, but solid, and I love the "hidden" keyboard which can act as a trackpad and hotkeys for apps. Always preferred a physical keyboard to a touch screen.

Are you planning on overclocking? The reason I ask is this MoBo isn't to great due to the not so great VRMs. If I were running a non overclockable CPU or atleast a CPU that wasnt as hot as the 4790k it wouldn't be too bad. And since your on a tight budget this may be a board to look at, at least temporarily. If you don't plan on overclocking there are some great H97 boards that are pretty easy on the wallet. I was thinking about perhaps switching to either an MSI krait z97 board or Asrocks extreme series.

I'd assume because they had time since AMD wasn't releasing anything, So getting to the higher end market first seemed more advantageous for them. Also the 750ti and 745 were technically Maxwell albeit first gen, so they already had budget orientated GPUs.
