That is exactly what I thought of when I saw the title. Especially with MCC coming to PC and all of that.
I got the GPU for free and it works for what I need it for. I mean I pretty much only play CS:GO, and all the other games I play it runs them just fine. I agree the CPU is limited, but for what I do, having the extra graphics power would probably be wasted money.
Of course I wouldn't turn down a free 2080 though...
That's a possibility I guess... But too bad.
I didn't mean to make that sound like an issue. Whoops. But anyways, it seems like a graphics card issue. Changing the PCIE power cable didn't do anything, but when I set my graphics card fan speed to 100 before I play games it doesn't crash, even though it never got to bad temperatures before. Not sure what the issue is but I guess that is a temporary solution. Unless that stops working, I guess that's solved for now? Thanks for the help.
All of the issues I've had with it makes it dumb. Or me dumb. One of those.
I also forgot to mention that the PSU I have for whatever reason the actual connectors are marked red for the PCIE Connectors. So I'm fairly certain the right ones are in.
The computer has not exploded yet either, and the graphics card is working, so that's also a good sign.
The next thing I tried was switching out the graphics card power cable (I just got the other one from my bag of spare ones). So far it hasn't crashed, but I haven't tried running any games. I let you know if it works or not.
I installed some older drivers from back in July when I wasn't having the issue and it didn't do anything. I hadn't thought of that though thanks for the suggestion.
I do have a spare PSU, but that is about it. I don't have any spare CPUs (at least none compatible with the socket) and no compatible RAM either. Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if it was a motherboard issue.
Yes. I don't really know how to explain it, it is just a sound that repeats over and over and doesn't stop.
Well deserved feature +1
CPU Clock Rate: 2147483.65GHz
Awesome build though, definitely deserving of the feature. +1
This is a really solid build. Good part selection and plenty of room for upgrade in the future. The motherboard you chose is a really good one, and you could potentially upgrade to an unlocked i5/i7 or even i9 in the 9th gen of Intel CPUs. You got some killer deals on the RAM and the graphics card as well, which makes it even better.
Good job, my man. +1
I have the exact same keyboard, 10 keyless, cherry mx brown switches and all. How do you like it? So far I think it is really nice, coming from a Razer Blackwidow Chroma, which had a lot of issues with software (synapse and all). Anyways nice build and good luck!
The Halo 3 pictures :D Also, nice build. +1
I've always wanted a 1080 it.
I still love to play Halo: CE, especially that level since you get more ammo in the sniper. Anyways, nice build! +1
I also have a 144Hz and 60Hz setup where they are side-by-side. Does it bother you to be using the 144Hz one as the main one and then switch something to the 60Hz one? I really want to get another 144Hz monitor now because it bothers me a lot xD
Do I smell a feature?
I looked up PUBG and RAM usage and it looks like 16GB would benefit. I'm not sure about Skyrim, but it would run really smoothly with the i5-8400 and the 1070 ti. The 1070 ti is like $30-$40 more than a 1070 so I would just get it, because it is like a 15% increase in performance. (about 90% of the GTX 1080s performance)
It would definitely be able to run at 144Hz @ 1080p, unless you have a lot of mods. Probably can even do 4k @ 50-60 fps. RAM is hugely expensive though. I tried to keep everything similar colors at least, and the cheapest RAM is really ugly (if you don't care about that, get it), but I put the cheapest 2x8 black modules I could find (of DDR4-2666). Also, if you don't need 500GB of space on your computer, you can cut costs down by getting the 250GB version, or you can just add in a HDD. Anyways, hopefully this helps!
Next feature? the cable management tho........... +1
Nevermind, on www.ekwb.com you can look up your card and find a list of compatible water blocks. It's actually pretty nice! Thanks for your help.
Are universal VGA waterblocks compatible with any card? I don't know much about watercooling xd
Here is a part list that would be about as good as you can get for 1080p and 60 FPS. Granted, some games aren't really that greatly optimized yet, so you might get frames drops here and there. Also, if you feel like you don't need it, you could drop a stick of RAM to lower the price. I tried to stick under $1000. If you need more space than 250GB, you could get a 500GB version or just add a hard drive or something like that. Good luck with your build!
Thanks! I'll take a look on that website and see what I can find.
I am thinking I will probably go with 13mm hardline tubing.
Yo I've got the same case but it only has one red LED fan in the front. Cool build! +1
Nice. I kind of just came up with my username, but I couldn't make an account on twitter or a couple of other websites with it because some Asian guy stole it :(
Anyways, nice username. I still don't remember the name of that song xd
By the way, I was just wondering if your username is based off of a song? I don't know why but it reminds of some song I've heard before but I can't remember the name xd
Sorry for being so random.
Did you have to get an adapter to get the blue snowball to fit into that boom arm? Nice build, too.
You wouldn't need a 750W PSU, probably would only need a 500-550W. Also, having no SSD in this day and age is pretty bad. You could just pick up a 120GB version on the cheap as a boot drive and it would improve the build greatly.
the 1060 ti doesn't exist tho...
Yes definitely don't get the Kraken from Razer. It is complete garbage. I know, because I have it. I like their mice and keyboards, but I've gotta say their headphones suck. The sound quality isn't that great, and neither is the mic. The headphones are actually quite large as well and feel quite heavy when compared to other headphones. If I am wearing them for a long period of time they tend to give me neck cramps and sometimes back cramps. Anyways, just don't get the Kraken.
Maybe its a 6800k or 6900k and he just clicked on the wrong one. xd
That overclock tho O_o
What CPU do you have? You said it's your first time with X99 yet you have an i7-6700K. Am I just confused? Or is there something off here? Anyways, cool-looking build!
The ketchup and mustard cables D:
You should sleeve them. But, if you don't care about how it looks I guess it really doesn't matter.
Hope it works well for you!
Very Clean Build. Good job!
Yeah, I know what you mean. Thanks
I have an original Xbox, and judging from the size I don't think it would fit 2 different systems. I am also looking for a PC case. Thanks for the suggestion though! I need to word my description better...
You're probably right, they tend to not waste space in consoles. I will still do measurements when I actually get the Xbox because I don't want to accidentally make something too small, or anything like that. Thanks.
I've thought about that, I just need to figure out some measurements. I have a microATX board in my PC but I'm not sure about the dimensions of the Xbox 360s Motherboard, so I will have to figure that out. Thanks!
I'm talking about putting all of my xbox hardware into a PC case, with my PC in it too. But I have seen things where people put their PC in an xbox case and it does look pretty cool.
I must not have worded it well. I mean like finding a computer case that would fit an xbox and all of my PC hardware in it. I don't think I could fit two systems in one of those puny cases xd
Thanks, I am thinking I will probably end up going to the ASUS STRIX. It just looks so cool, man.
hehe... Well... I guess there is no other way to put this, but I am quite an idiot sometimes. I got too excited and didn't know as much about motherboards as I should have before I ordered this one. I was mostly focused on pricing and compatibility when I got it, but I got this one:
I keep looking over at my computer (it has a window) and looking at the "H110M" letters on the mobo and my brain just goes "..." now that I know more. I guess I've learned now, but I still don't have much experience.
It isn't the one I have currently. I was considering upgrading to that one, but it's pretty expensive.
