I think it'll do fine but you should if you build it, give it some fresh air and add case fans if you think it will need it.

I love how all the colors of your setup come together and the build itself is very nice! Parts are quite nice but you could have maybe changed the graphics to a RX 470 and use a CRYORIG or Cooler Master cooler. Also, +1 point for adding many pictures!

I like how all the parts look inside the case and the theme is also quite nice. I would have gone with the Asus Z170-A for a white theme but overall, this is quite a nice gaming build. Please add more pitures if you can!

I would totally go for the Asus Z170-A beause its LGA 1151, its has amazing overclocking for over 4.5 Ghz speeds, amazing looks and up to 5 way SLI optimization. If you have a white theme, then this is the mobo for you. For your budget it would be great coming in at around $150. My personal favorite and going to be using it in my upcoming gaming build of December.

I was thinking the Asus Z170-A but right now its at about $150 so never mind... I think I would have to go for the Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard. Its a great motherboard with good overclocking and decent looks. Its plain black and it supports DDR4, two-way SLI, it has 3 SATA express ports and some LED's for looks.

I think a 1060 would be just fine and achive those over 60fps with no effort.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "First time gaming build - comments welcome"

Great build for gaming with that 1060 but the memory is very expensive for 8GB's. With that muc money for 8GB's, you could almost get 16GB's already or you could get a better motherboard if you wanted.

Overall, its a decent build but maybe choose a cheaper memory kit for like $40 and maybe up your storage. I dont think you should up the 1050 ti as this is a budget powerhouse and can run many new games at 60fps with no effort. This is actually the graphics card I will be getting when I build my new gaming PC in a few weeks.

I think, overall your build is very good though maybe with your budget, you could either get more storage, up your memory or maybe change your graphics if you really wanted to. This really depends on what you do with it, like what games you play or what hobbies you have but overall, theres my opinion.

Really nice budget build! Thats a lot of storage for a $300 budget build and for everyday use like Word 2016 and Excel 2016 this would do just fine! Slap a 750 ti on there and you have yourself a quite powerfull and cheap gaming PC!

Yeah, I agree. With a powerhouse like the 970, a 1600p monitor is hardly tanking advantage of the capabilities the GTX 970 can give. And instead of getting that cooler I think you could have just gotten an air cooler like the H7 or the Dark Rock Pro 3 which is about the same price.

For an entry build that is... Wow. Love your choice on the motherboard since I personally really like ASUS motherboards and also Corsair for RAM. I think you could have changed to air cooling and saved some money to make the storage better but a great build in then end. Hope you wife loved it!

For your overall price I think you could have toned down the video card to a 1050 ti or 960 and get a i5 6500 or much better motherboard but I think the 480 is a beast and an awesome choice!

You could have gotten a 1070 for a cheaper price and still outstanding performance which can outperform a 980 tiand maybe gotten more storage but overall I like your build a lot!
