I've overclocked the gpu yesterday and here is a new benchmark http://www.3dmark.com/fs/9313342
No heat problem with a good fan control even with FE
ahah you're right :)
But 4k with gsync was out of my budget for now :/
It should be playable but definitely not better since most TV have more latency than monitors (response time are usually around 10ms unless you can afford a high-end one)
I'd say Samsung’s U24E590 but i haven't tested it myself ( http://4k.com/24-inch-monitor-reviews-best-buying-guide-for-4k-24-inch-display-lcd-and-24-panel-for-sale/ )
I got the 28" Asus for the same price with a discount (https://fr.pcpartpicker.com/product/r9h9TW/asus-monitor-pb287q)
Yep your monitor is exactly what I would need :p Maybe that I'll sell mine next year and add a bit to get the same as yours
Ah ok i understand, it must be frustrating to have everything ready but the ram :)
i would have done the same
yep I have 28" 4k and I think it's the minimum size tbh
I don't think it's possible for now considering that 4k works requires displayport and displayport 1.2 is maxed a 60Hz.
You'll have to wait for displayport 1.3 at least...
Wow this build is so similar to mine, then i must approve it :)
Just two things:
why 32gb ram when 16gb is already future proof ?
And 2nd thing, you really have a nice case and parts, maybe you should re-do your cable management to match that quality ;)
yep that's true about 4k for games like the witcher 3. But for older titles it's very smooth ^ In games like borderlands the pre sequel (2014 if i remember well) i'm above 110-120 fps in 4k. Even in the witcher 3 all max @4k it's ok since it's not a fps/online game and 45fps are enough to enjoy it.
btw if I put a watercooling on my gtx i'll overclock it of course
this man has a point (and a big one !)
I've just run firestrike http://www.3dmark.com/fs/9006183
I've just checked i confim it's currently set on 1.28V for 4.5Ghz
Sure, i'll check tonight.
But not all 6600k will work with the same voltage, it's (like always with overclocking) lottery
aaaah i5 6600k + watercooling means overclocking is compulsory man
1.28V if I remember well (not at home for now)
Performance wise they are almost the same (http://ocaholic.ch/modules/smartsection/item.php?itemid=1655&page=16 it's in french but the point is that performance indicators are very close).
From my personnal experience, I alrealdy owned a Gigabyte, an Asrock and currently an asus (the ROG Maximus VIII Ranger) and clearly the Asus ROG is the one that gives me the best impression.
It really looks above the other brands in terms of quality imo, but this is a personnal preference. However, the ROG bios is really good
I mean, if i don't play 4k there is no need for gtx 1080
Yep but it's not 4k (which is my number 1 requirement for enjoying fully witcher 3) :/
Gsync 4k is more like 700-800€
Yep in most games it's well above 60 fps (like in borderlands 2-3 and Rainbow 6 siege)
The only game I have that makes it fall below 60 fps is the Witcher 3 with everything max and hairworks ON. But without hairworks it's OK.
By the way you're totally right about a 4K G-sync monitor but it was much more expensive (i got this good 4k monitor for 400€ and 100€ cashback so total was around 300€) and considering I have only one game with frame drops I will wait for the 4K GSync prices to drop
The case is one of the two parts (with one of the big HDD) that I kept from my previous build... At that time i liked the agressive design...
Now I'm considering getting Corsair Graphite 780T or Corsair Air 540 Artic White... But I'm too lazy for this right now :p
Thank you :) I just have to find a proper way to tie the second PCIe cable
Sure i'll post benchmarks or perf monitoring during game sessions this week
