Nice OC setup, +1. So about the monitor, have you compared it against other LED and IPS displays? I've heard it looks good for a non-IPS display, but do you know how close it is to an IPS monitor?

PSU might be a bit overkill unless you're planning on OCing a Ryzen and GTX 1080 TI in the future, but if you plan ln just buying mid-range cards in the future a cheaper $30-40 430-500W would be enough. Either way not by any means a bad build, +1

OP got it for $110, while the RX 470 is at it's lowest $150 ($170 rn). It would be out of the OP's budget. 1050 would've been a better option, but maybe the OP got the 950 locally and didn't want to pay shipping for a 1050 online. 4GB of VRAM would be ideal, but if the only option for the budget is a 4GB RX 460 I can understand why they went with the 1050.

By far the best budget AMD rig (and emulation centered rig), and it really shows that you've done your research and got the best for the price specifically for the Dolphin emulator. +1 for sure

The difference between the 1050 and 1050 TI is very small, so I recommend either getting the 1050 or RX 470 as both make the TI obsolete (but as you already have the 750 TI, I'd think 470). The RX 480 has been at a decent price too (actually $200) and is ~$50 cheaper than the similarly performing 1060. I'm no AMD fanboy (I buy based on pricing and performance not brand), but right now I recommend for you to look at the RX 470 and 480.

OC doesn't need to get a Razer or Logitech. I do think that the OC should consider upgrading to a cheap mechanical keyboard and a nicer mouse down the line though, but if he/she's okay with the CM that's fine also. Not too shabby for a budget combo.

Very nice build, the only thing that would help make this more aesthetically pleasing is an extended mousepad. On Amazon you can actually find a really cool red scorpion extended mousepad, but I understand if you don't want to spend the money. With or without one your build definitely stands out and looks amazing!

Comment reply on gsxrsp0rt's Completed Build: Finally, an Upgrade! 6700K & GTX 980

I think you could've gotten a better performing CPU cooler and GPU for the same price, but by no means are the components bad or ineffective. I recommend staying up to date on all of the new components that spike interest in the media so you can find those cheaper and better performing parts.

You made a decent build for 1080p gaming, but in two or so years 4K will become the new norm. So in two or three years I think you should upgrade your GPU to the GTX 1080 and your CPU cooler to the H80i. The GTX 1080 is the best performing GPU currently on the market and it's only $600 ($700 if you get the ones with really good coolers). To put it in perspective, the 1080 is about three to four times more powerful than your GTX 980. Also the H80i CPU cooler is a really good cooler to overclock, while you can't really get good overclocks on an i7 with an H60. If you REALLY want to future-proof it you can get an H100i or better cooler for $100+ but I don't really recommend that.

IMHO the i3-6100 or the Pentium G4400 is best for budget gaming, but you sir have the best for both worlds with a CPU with 8 cores. I prefer Intel because I game more than anything, but I agree that the 8350 is best for budget editing.

DAMN is that a beast of a cooler! I bet that looks amazing in your case!

I like your rendering build. It's nice to see something different than a gaming PC.

Comment reply on SnowMistic's Completed Build: "The Molten Flame" so he calls it.... ._______.

I personally would've went with a Skylake build with a $110 i3-6100 or a $60 Pentium G4400. The Pentium trumps the FX in almost every way, plus you could've gotten a cheaper motherboard that supports even cheaper ($29 DDR4-2400) RAM but I understand if you like AMD over Intel. As you can tell I personally prefer Intel, but it's perfectly fine if you like AMD. I personally like AMD GPUs (Freesync FTW).

The 950 is a really solid console-killing card. I like your taste.

I think you did a great job getting peripherals that were inexpensive (other than the mouse, but a good mouse is key to a good PC experience) and fit on your desk.

Very nice job! +1 for sure!

Glad you like them, I feel much more confident about them now! I can't really stand a keyboard without a wrist rest, and the G910 also has 9 macros. I would get the G900, but my build is going to have a blue theme, which is why I'm getting the Proteus Core.

Comment reply on burnsbright's Completed Build: Gaming Rig

Ah. I was planning on getting that case too. Blue theme and everything. I plan on replacing the RGB fans with some more efficient ones with blue accents on them since the only blue color seems a bit too dark to match the rest of my theme. Logitech is selling cylindrical keycaps on their website, so the keycaps won't be a problem. I've never had a doubt about the G502, but your input is really useful with the G910 and MK-I. Thanks!

The 980 TI is $600, so the Pascal will likely be $800. Instead of getting dual 970s I'd wait for Pascal and see the reviews. If the Pascal isn't worth the money, I'd highly recommend getting the 980 TI instead of 970 Sli.

Almost perfect! If I were you I'd either align the monitors to be in the middle of your desk, or I'd grab a monitor arm to mount a monitor on top of your main one. If you don't want to spend the extra money I'd go with the first option, but with a monitor arm your build would look sexy af.
