Um, you could pair an RTX 2080 with that cpu, depending of course you're target fps, but a 580? :D
What are you building for?
edit Gaming, streaming, ect?
Alright i see, probably should have a choice when i'll be looking by early next year.
"Actual" Hardcore Overclocking ;)
Dude, im on a 1070ti and @ 1440p/60 high ultra im nice, ( thats, gpu bound ) mostly, cause i only play single player AAA games, so @ 1080p on a 2060 S, yea you're good to go :D
Also go blue for cpu, this is coming from a 2700x user in gaming and honestly Zen 2 (3000) is still imho eh in raw frames at best but whatever i guess, good luck!
My 2700x is paired with an x470 Gaming 7 wifi, Trident Z rgb kit which is all housed in the Corsair Crystal 570x and its freaking gorgeous!
No RGB strips required ;) Bright as all hell.
Do YOU happen to know what that refers too? It only happens when i open ryzen master.
Well, i went ahead just now and downloaded ryzen master cause i have been using rivatune and was questioning the temps and now my mobo's debug code says d3 on my x470 gaming 7.... Whole year on this thing and 24 or 40 has only been the numbers displayed until now and worst of all, i cant find the freakin mobo manual. Kind of regret downloading this ryzen master, I myself am not very software savvy.
So whats wrong with my ****? I tried to google it, something about sleep mode?
Honestly, f*&^ a 2080ti and 4k gaming as well, lol. (1440p /165hz) I was going off the notion from your post with $500 only but if your holding off then i would save a bit more and just get the 2080, have no regrets and never look back! :D
Just get an RTX 2060, i currently use the 1070Ti and at 1440p 60hz i am very happy with it (came frrom a 1060 @ 1080p) and when i run it at 1080p (lolololl).
The 2060 @ 1080p/144hz its super nice even more so cause its under YOUR $500 budget. But if the budget is burning a whole in your pocket there is also the 2070 for "around" that $500 mark.
I thought the 1070ti is the only card that has no factory oc, cause then whats the point with the 1080 back then, i am pretty sure my card has no factory boost?
Ok, i take it 1070TI has no factory oc, just wondering how that card works in terms of "good", Thanks again :)
I like Buildzoid! Oh and NG
Hey man, no prob here just was curious, still at 0 and won't be touching. On a second note is my OC, would you say to be considered good?
ok, i see now, thank you very much!
I freaked out and asked the same when my 2700x was at 80c using stock fan.
I went with the x470 gaming 7 wifi, there is this tech tube guy on Youtube called "Actually Hardcore Overclocking" and has done a fantastic job of Mobo tear downs, there VRM's and how badly Mobo company's flat out lie about there VRM's.
He's even done mobo tear downs for Gamer Nexus. In the end I went with that Gaming7 over the Asus Hero, both those boards VRM's are apparently over kill for the line up of x470's.
Because of reasons like this and more, I flipped a coin when i made my choice... Heads - 8700k, Tails - 2700x.
It landed on Tails.
Regret nothing :)
or another language.
Drumming, death Metal. Play by ear or maybe bass or how about video editing?
Maybe work on a project like a design for a table top RPG!
Film a documentary, I would :P
I am going to be taking a crash course in short hand writing soon, I have a really good idea that can work, i just need to find an artist.
Ok then, ty.
Now, if MSI AB is not running in the background while gaming then no oc, correct?
Also, this amount is good for long-term?
Yes, it is stable. I noticed a big improvement with certain games fps at 1440p
Thank you :)
Wife, kids, three dogs and Death Metal.
Dark Souls or Nioh?
I love death, Slayer is my #1 though.
I paired an x470 Gaming 7 with my 2700x for a reason, think after i did my research it had something to do with"power phases" and giving an 8c/16t CPU a "proper" home over the Gaming 5 and ultra.
Cheap boards work but I would spend enough for a more optimal home for such a beefy CPU, i guess is what i am trying to say, also I know a lot of people that like that x470 Asus Hero which I almost got but it was too, too much. My gaming 7 is perfect for my 2700x and was about $60 less at the time compared to the Hero
There Death Metal in my book and never sound as up beat or riffy as the new album, call this album whatever you want but its really good.
I never sub-genre music, for me its rock, hard rock, metal, death/black metals, eh.
Actually Hardcore, Science Studio, J's 2cents, HW-unbox, Nexus and Tech Deals mostly.
That dude on Tech deals is cool AF, he really does deserve more subs. Oh and that Canadian/Russian guy from HW Canuck's. Periodic Videos, Chilled Cow or LoQDubious ( for when I chill and Metal over qualifies ) Big Think, Fact or fiction ( Loud Wire ) Bellular Gaming ( WoW ) and Comicstorian
A few more I am sure.
This site uses a profanity filter?
link is youtube, someone put Miami vice footage to gunship and its nothing shy of 80's bliss imo. enjoy:)
Oh, you mean actual 80's, sweet, me too. Gunship sounds like it came from the 80's even though its only a few years old. Try Chromatics while you are at it.. all retro 80's "sounding stuff" and amazing so.
For Gunship try The Mountain and for Chromatics try Lady or Shadow, its electronic but with an 80's vibe.
Not sure how you feel about Deicide but there new album is literally freaking everyone out due to it being very up beat and full of catchy riffs. Yes, I am serious. It's called Overtures Of Blasphemy and it rocks:)
I just bought the new Deicide! Can't stop listening and that's a first for me and Deicide. It's so riffy!
Hmm, i typed you back but it seems to have been deleted?
Oh well, thanks for posting that, I gave it a go but I don't think I could get into it. :)
Oh thats right, the H500p Mesh was only in white which is why i moved to the 570x. If they had the black 500p mesh I would have that right now but that is also all plastic I think so the money for the 500p did not make sense to me but damn its nice looking.
Wow, CAD prices suck!
I was originally going to get the Meshify C but changed to a 570x Crystal instead because, well because I like to make things difficult :D
Before I ordered my parts the whole "ram with ryzen" thing bothered me so I asked in the ram or mobo threads "when pairing ram with ryzen is this the best ram and mobo to pair for me?"
For a few days I actually talked back and forth with a few very helpful people that help steered me to what I have now and everything ended up working out great.
Ram and Ryzen, thats what I stressed out the most before I ordered, good luck!
"squeeze out a GTX 1080 but for 1440p 60Hz it seems like overkill to me? I don't anticipate going 4k any time soon."
I have a 1070ti and a 2700x and game @ 1440p/60hz and can tell you from experience a 1080 is NOT overkill if you mean gaming.
Yea, I know about the 60c mark when letting the ( i believe it's.. ) "XFR2" do it's thing? I will get a better cooler iv'e just never seen it that warm yet. ty
Damn, well may I ask what cooler you use?
Thanks, i did rgb build so as great as that cooler is I don't think it would look appropriate lol.
Definitely saving for a better cooler, just want to make sure for now low 80's still ok while gaming?
Yea, that's my rig, i did an rgb build this time, board rocks so far!
Is it a lot of lost performance? ( depending on game, right?)
I have heard it so much that I guess its just put in my head that if i go high refresh then its a waste if its not "sync tech" and for 1080p at those prices, ugh...
I got the 1070ti for $500 only cause at the time 1080s were $750 :( But now that has past its more or less about the same anyways so meh and oh well i guess, so if you can go 1070ti money wise, I would have to say F that and get the 1080 for the same price.
What do you mean "seriously compromise on fan quality" also i believe the 1070ti at stock is 25%ish faster then a 1070, about's.
After finally getting a "27 1440p screen, the cost of performance that goes to a bump in rez compared to running any game maxed out @ 1080p with unlocked fps is not worth it i am now thinking lol.
