Eh....it's no thicker than the default cooler if that's what you're asking. The measure app from my iPhone said 2 inches thick and 11 1/2 inches long.
Clean build! I encourage you to move your 1st RAM module over one slot to the left for optimal performance (Dual Channel Mode).
August 25th of last year.
Bought it on Ebay. And no, took less than 20min to remove the stock cooler and install the AIO w/the GPU Bracket.
I explained my reasoning in the description. But the pictures are ordered from current to older and where I started.
That CPU Cooler Though! She's A Star!
Yeah, something different. It'll be cool to see what other manufacturers do with future boards apart from adding more LEDs.
Late reply but the stock cooler's really quite too! Quieter than my NZXT Kraken X61's stock fans. They're the loudest component in my build.
Check This out. From personal experience, I'd pass on the water cooler. The Stock air cooler is actually really good! You can OC to 3.8GHz and still maintain decent temps.
Don't skimp on the important components. I see the ASUS ROG Strix 1060 6GB as a "Premium" card. It's cooler is pretty overkill for the 1060. You can save money by getting EVGA's FTW model for $240 on Amazon. Is this the build you're going with here?
:O You have an R1. You must post your build. My X61's nice and all my the stock cooler that came with my R5 1600 was near silent and I miss that about air cooling. I could swap the fans on the rad but I'd rather just go back to air cooling. Fewer points of failure and not as heavy....sometimes.
Ah, didn't know about that. Thanks!
I could've sworn I replied to your comment. Damn phone. Yeah, thanks for the recommendations. I do like the TG but I don't care for that black outline around the windows as it's not uniform. But this looks clean. The P series is dope. Huh, I thought M.2's were even faster than SSD's, maybe in workloads then, like exporting and or real-time rendering or something like that. Ah, I don't know if I can drop Afterburner just yet. I've realized that when I don't see its overlay I freak out and toggle it back on lol. I developed a habit of running so many benchmarks for hours on end. Again, thanks for your input. I'll hold off and that M.2/New Case as they're not really needed. But a new PSU is at the top of my list. Hell, if I see a 650/750W Platinum I'd scoop that up.
Thank you. I had received quite a few negative comments on a previous version of this build cause people assumed I was "copying" another persons setup. The build they referred too was a complete custom loop and was 100% dedicated to Star Wars. Custom case and all. I just stuck my guys in there cause they fit the theme and I liked looking at them.
Ohhh. Your builds kinda like how I wanted/want to build mine! My colors are also Black, White, and Blue. Although, I've opted to go with NZXT's Kraken X61 but prefer Air Cooling, specifically Cryorig's R1 apparently it won't fit in the P400s and I don't have money like that to test it, Asus's Strix GTX 1060 6GB and Fractal's Define R5. I'll trade cases and coolers! Ah...only if I were joking lol. Nice build BTW! Great cable management! +1
Edit: Wow, you even chose the G2 650W XD I wanted that too! But now I want the G3 650W.
1st pic makes me regret buying an AIO. Ahhh...that R1 looks so damn good!
Pretty sweet man!
I don't own that GPU anymore but I made a video on some settings I was using: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmaWumM4Ag0
Oohhh....you were talking about how the CPU's temps were. Hahaha, I was running a liquid cooler (NZXT's Kraken X61) On the Silent profile, temps never went past 41C during stress testing.
Had been using it for over a year and it worked just fine. That day I attemtped to overclclock it was when I realized it had a 3 star rating on Newegg for a reason. I tried to ignore the reviews due to user errors and people complaining about Linux but my ONLY issue with this motherboard is that the North Bridge Or the was reaching 100C+ on any overclock above 4.2Ghz. Eventually I gave up, clicked "Auto OC" and just left it at 4.2Ghz, it's mac turbo frequency. Other than that, she looked good inside that case and didn't have any problems other than those freaking heatsinks. When not overclocked though.....mobo temps sat around 60C.
The mounting of the cooler, yes. The fan, no.
My reaction to the first pic: This person has a nice PC and a HTC Vive. What's up with the plumbing? Got to the 8th picture and went, "Ohhh, that's dope!" Good thinking with that setup! If you paint/wrap the PVP Pipe, please update the photos, with a before and after. That would be awesome too see :D
You can unscrew the fan, rotate it, screw back in and problem solved :P
The first thing I noticed was the absence of a backplate on that GPU lol. Then came pic #2.
DIY Backplate: Off
DIY Backplate: On
DIY Backplate: On
DIY Backplate: Off
Haha, clean build dude.
At First glance....WTF Face. Took a step back, Now I see. Have you tried swapping the bottom mounted intake with the rear exhaust to see how that would look?
Oh snap! It's an actual drawer :D
What!?!? 58C Max! Awesome! Were you able to maintain that OC with a lower voltage?
This is a test Sweet, it worked :)
Haha, glad it was a loose screw and not something else. So 3.7 it is :) I...well, AMD said that they don't recommend that you go past 1.365v as a daily OC but for benchmarks it's fine.
Oh ok, I'll check back in to soon to see how it goes.
O_O Now I must to go visit Microcenter.
What, my first time seeing people posting builds stating that they're in MD!?!? We must meet! I need new friends lol.
You can OC to 3.7GHz with ease on the stock cooler.
I forgot to answer your question, it fits my Strix card perfectly due to it being adjustable.
Another one that I was looking at a while back was all black with triangle cutouts. Found it! The priced has dropped since then too: $19.98 now :)

Sorry for the late reply. Definitely not the 1st one ($50) The second one along with its blue and red variants sell for $25.80. I only paid $18.50 for mine though but it's no longer available. It has been removed from Amazon. My original choice was Puget's Systems version. I was going to get it but decided, "I want it to say Nvidia instead" :D https://www.amazon.com/Puget-Systems-Universal-Acrylic-Brace/dp/B019ZZQVK8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1487980379&sr=8-3&keywords=GPU+Brace

It's not saying much but if PCPartPicker ever needs judges, I'm nominating you without hesitation AFTER you take you own advice that you've been so kind to share with others and touch up your own build. XD
C'mon, do you really think Cooler Master would design a case compatible with their own liquid coolers that restrict airflow? The top is open with an air filter. As for the HB Bridge, I agree: http://www.pcworld.com/article/3087524/hardware/tested-the-payoff-in-buying-nvidias-40-sli-hb-bridge.html
That i5 is loving its new throne. Your friend is crazy for not using it in his build (hopefully not because of something bad of course).
What made you get the P5 over the P3?
I regret purchasing NZXT's Hue+. For the first week or so I loved it! Now the only thing not looking so bright in its future besides the LEDs is the software the controls it. Simple fix if you or anyone else encounters this problem: Just unplug and re-plug it, restart CAM, and it should detect it. Personally, I do it so much that I'm honestly thinking about creating an exterior switch just for the HUE+.
What O_o Velcro Man is finally pleased? This can't be real what sorcery is this?
Wow....you both posted on the same day too. Hahahaha! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whG38VrY3fo
I dislike when people criticize others for what they decide to buy and place in their own build but hands down, I recommend AMD's RX 470 over Nvidia's GTX 1050 Ti.
I see nothing wrong. It's like an open test bench minus the cable management. If you weren't testing your parts before tossing them in the case. This is a good open case: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133317&cm_re=P3_case_computer-_-11-133-317-_-Product
Clean. A little too clean. I'm now jealous. -Rep for being so clean. :D
I'm quite curious as to what someone wrote that required a moderator to remove it. But besides that, what figurines are those? I have two in my build but yours look as if you assembled them like Legos. Please, I must know!
I side by this. I'm looking into buying some acrylic polisher to "remove" or fill in the scratches on my side panel's window to give it that "I just unboxed it" look. This doesn't look so bad: https://www.amazon.com/NOVUS-7100-Plastic-Polish-Kit/dp/B002UCYRZU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487280520&sr=8-1&keywords=Acrylic+polish
"First Build", stop lying! JK ;D Great Build!
