Easy to fix.... Just shift the load over to the gpu and up the resolution , i.e. 1440p or over , ran a 8320/1070@ 1440p and then a 6700k/1070 @1440p and fps was the same though the 6700k ran smoother, but that being said at 1080p the 1070 was being choked bad by the 8320 lol

I imagine at 4K it's gpu bound so you should be ok, but if your willing to drop some coin the 8700k is a good boost over your current CPU . But I would wait tbh cause the fps increase imo isn't worth a new mobo /ram/CPU which will be atleast 550$+

Nice build!!! I agree on the 212 direction exhaust it out the back of your case and use a fan there to pull it on the case, classic hyper 212 setup that is tried a true! My Evga will start to throttle abit at 60 C so everything you can do to keep it 2k plus is a must! My Evga 1070 ftw with +100 , +415 is a stock 1080 under 60C ;)

Be fine for 1080p, just turn some settings down that usually don't visually make a difference , atleast to me they don't

My experience with this was at 1080p my weak processor held me back (when I had an fx8320) but when I played at 1440p my experience was much smoother, I actually got much better fps at 1440p. This was useing a fx8320/Gtx 1070, when I dropped in a i7 6700k I got the same fps at 1440p , it was abit smoother of course but not enough that I was like wow so much better. Now gsync really made me wow with 144hz :) but that's another topic

Graphics score of 22300 supposedly with what looks like an oc, my Evga Gtx 1070 ftw scores 21750 with an oc :-/ so not Gtx 1080 level cause you can oc a 1080 to smoke that score ;) idk prolly a BS score posted anyways

Ofc :) if you haven't experienced 144hz you should before you buy a 4k. 1440p 144+hz is sweet for a 7700k 1080ti!

I think I run about 2100 or slightly under in most games, once it hits 60c which is the max I see gaming it throttles like 20-30mhz. If you want consistent oc then aggressive fan curve and great airflow is your friend! I get like 20500 graphics score on firestrike for comparison for you

You need to get a similar cause otherwise the bridge won't fit due to the size diff, I believe an Evga black and sc are the same size, the ftw is bigger I think.

Ya amd crapped on making the 9370 and 9590, I had a 8320 that would do 5ghz but 4.5ghz offered the same perf so I left it at that. Solid gpu for what it was but it choked a good gpu at 1080p. :) I only paid 20$ for it after selling my gold 955 BE that ran at 4.3 ghz. The 955 destroyed the fx 8320 on single core too lol

I had this build for abit, at 1080p ya it battlenecked abit, but at 1440p I got the same fps off this build as I did when I switched over to an i7 6700k. You can argue this with some people and they are dead set on no matter what res, game, settings an fx 8320 will always be the bottleneck and it's not true ;) you do need to oc that 1070! I was hitting 20k on graphics with my 1070 ftw

Nice build! Finally a guy who realizes at 4K your gpu bound ;) so many people are stuck on this subject of bottleneck that they can't see if you up the resolution your CPU isn't as much a factor as your gpu! You know for once your mentioning a 7700k bottlenecking it's real, gpu has out paced our CPU for once in the advancement department, I think Intel being lazy and amd struggling have a lot to do with this but it's exciting! I love how the flagship nvidia is bottlenecked at 1080p by every single CPU ;)

Luckily I haven't had to deal with em as I bought an Asus mobo for my i7 , I wish Evga wasn't so expensive or I'd buy a complete Evga build lol I did buy my psu and gpu Evga though! I have a 1070 too and it's a great bang for your buck! Think next gen 1070 equivalent will be 1080 ti speed for the same $$$$ I'm hoping!
