wow thank you man for checking it out! yeah i spent probably too much time planning out my cable stuff, im a little ocd when it comes to how my computer looks on the inside. im about to cash out on a corsair air 540 for my next computer so cable management should be a breeze. if you're thinking about upgrading your case too, definitely check it out, looks like a fantastic option
are you gonna upgrade your cpu to one of the 8 cores perhaps? or stick with the 6? imo, upgrading to one of the 8 cores seems like a lot of money for two more cores, but i love your build and cant wait to see it get upgraded later. and ayyy same case too, i feel you with the cable management XD

I know this is a generally accepted practice, but what kind of issues does it bring about if you don't do it? I've always been told to alternate channels on dimms, but why tho?
Ayy dude that's one sweet build. If you would be so kind, if you do end up getting a 580, could u kinda describe the performance u get cuz I'm thinkin bout getting basically the same setup so, it would be amazing knowing the kind of power I would get on this system.
for gaming, i think the cpu and gpu are paired perfectly. It should perform pretty well in most titles. One thing I would change is get a power supply with at least a 80+ bronze rating. It isnt usually a good idea to cheap out on a psu because those usually fail first in a computer. So make sure you buy a good psu (id say about $40 at least with 80+Bronze). other than that, looks good!
that list looks pretty good, as long as it suits your needs. what kind of things will you be using your computer for? that way i could see if those specs would be good for your specific application you want to use your computer for. but for a basic computer, it looks great!
Imo, I would get a cheaper motherboard unless you absolutely need the extra features it has. You could find one of good quality but much cheaper with only less fancy features. Also, unless your sure you can get >144 fps on games you wanna play, I would go with a 60 hz monitor or 75 hz. Unless you plan to upgrade later, it would save you a lot of valuable money to buy a monitor with a smaller refresh rate
Lol tricked u XD what's ur budget for the CPU? If you are willing to spend about $90 more, you could probably get a 6600k and overclock it for a huge performance boost. But if you are going for straight budget and not doing anything CPU intensive, then an i3 would be plenty of power
I totally understand, I don't particularly love the case either, I just saw that it was cheap, red and black, and looked cool, so I bought it (huge rookie mistake). I didn't realize that there wasn't much room for cable management, a large quantity of drive bays i didn't need, and under-optimized airflow. But it's still a case and houses components so things could be worse I guess... thanks for the feedback though! I don't really know of any green and red cases out there, but what you could do is get a red case and accent it with green spraypaint (drive bays, pcie slot covers, etc) to give it a little green on it. Better than nothing, but I don't think there are many cases on the market as of now that are good quality, from reputable brands, and have the colors you want (to my knowledge, could be wrong). But I hope you find a case you like and enjoy your computer once it is completed :)
That's ok! I'm undecided about going with the 480 and calling it a day, or a 1070 and researching to save money on the rest of my build to pay for the extra cash. Imo, I think I should just wait until I get enough dosh to pay for it. But idk, if I do end up buying it, ill tell you how it goes!
You're awesome dude! yeah doing a good quality build is tough, but you can find good deals from legit sources besides retail and save a TON of money. I guess I got lucky XD
Nice! IPS is really good looking on a monitor, I sometimes play tf2 on my friends IPS monitor, looks much better. Since I will be upgrading, do you have any suggestions for good monitors for the money? I preferably want one that is 144hz for a future build that I'm planning too.
yeah its pretty sad that it isn't full HD and much smaller than I would like it to be. Yes it was lying around from last Christmas when I was first putting together this build. But its ok, it looks similar to full HD, but I can tell the difference between this and 1080p. This Christmas I'm gonna try to replace it with something better. It is kinda sad, but it won't be around forever.
Thanks a lot man! It's a good looking case, but not the best for performance (airflow, cable-management). But for only $40, it was a deal I couldn't pass up.
Thanks for the help! It was really starting to bother me how loud it was, but I thought it was just that I bought cheap fans and that happens with cheap fans.
I just had a revelation...It's my Logisys fan that is making all the noise. I took it out just now and the system was a lot quieter. Definitely that one. My case fans are plugged into molex headers that are zip tied in the back of my case so I can't test the case fans rpm, but they are probably a lot quieter than previously thought. My mobo has a fan rpm monitor on it, but not a controller.

really sweet build you got there, similar to what I'm gonna be doing later. You did a really good job with the colors on that build, keep up the good work my friend +1
sweet build, sorry it didn't really work out for you. its basically the same as mine. I has the same cooler and its been working out really well for me and I have the same cpu as u
