Nice, I would have gotten it if it had a swappable switch feature for my gateron switches :( , personaly went with a chinese optical switch keyboard instead and didn't realize until i had ordered that it had different technology and couldnt house normal switches.

parts are decent but the problem with prebuilt pc is that generally it costs much more than it would if you buy the parts separately and built it yourself.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "How can I try out switches?"

  • 1 point

Like all other people mentioned there are lots of possibilities and i agree with them, but if you have the $$ buy a mechanical keyboard with replaceable switch feature and buy gateron switch packs on aliexpress, a pack containing 60~ switch is about 22 USD.

Note: i know my suggestion isnt "trying out switches" but is an option if you cant make up your mind.

It isn't everybody, most of the time it's just buthurt people commenting when he say something bad about a product they own or admire. A friend of mine said he was criticizing too much which is funny because that's what i like about him, most of youtube 'tech reviewers' just read specification and show B roll shot without sharing much opinion which seems what most people like, i personally would call that an overview not a review . Other people say he is biased which i disagree, and example would be LG G5 review which he called 'a true disappointment' and if you look at the g5 sales now you would know he was right.

wow 3 fps difference, does that difference make a cpu non- competetive for you?

Comment reply on Forum Topic "AMD vs INTEL?"

There is no denying the pentium has slight edge over 860, when the game can utilizes cores like battlfield franchise the results are very similar, but when there is a noticable difference it just shows how the game is not properly optimized cpu wise like fallout and just cause, imo that doesn't rule it out of competition.

You misunderstood what i meant by competitive, in the low budget segment amd offers 4 core cpus while intel offers 2 while intel has better single thread performance if the game utilize more cores the performance will be similar.

As it currently stands Intel , Amd is only competitive for low budget cpus.

Yea the 850 beats it in every aspect except in price , I prefer capacity over speed because i don't think the difference in speed is that noticable compared to capacity, 120gb is not enough these days, for example i couldn't put ark (game updates need more space while downloading like you would need 20gb empty space for a 2gb update) on mine which only has windows and some programs on it.

Depends on how you define "better" , you like almost all other probably mean better performance like i5 + 1070 which i would personally go for, but the op wanted something that somehow looks elegant + 27 inch monitor, of course it is a preference thing but i doubt people seeing air coolers as elegant as water cooled ones.

It says in the description that he wanted to show off his build to his friends IMO water cooler is the way to go instead of air coolers and the case is a personal preference, about downvote i don't really care there are people like those everywhere and thanks for the upvote.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Thoughts on removable switch mech keyboards?"

  • 1 point

For normal, average and most people you are right but nothing describes the feeling you get when you want to try out other switches and you don't have the cash or keyboards to test, and yea while the chances of dead keys are low you can't guarantee the durability of most Chinese switches compared to cherry that's where it will come in handy and defeat the purpose of paying 20$ more for an equivalent keyboard with cherry, oh and you don't have to change all the switches, you can change a few or the alphabet, space, caps, enter, backspace, tab, shift and ctrl which is about 40 keys but you are spot on about it being a pain to change #lazypeople but still way more convenient for average people with no expertise to change them without opening they keyboard and having potential risk of damaging a wire or the board in the process . A full sized keyboard with blue switch and removable switch feature costs around 60$ now plus 200 gateron switches (40 of red, brown, green, clear and black) costs around 60 which approximates 120$ grand total, with that money you could grab a high end keyboard with software rich customization so it all comes down to what the buyer wants i guess.

Gateron does follow cherry's system in all colors except clear which is 35g that makes it 10g lighter than reds. In General gateron linear switches are smoother than cherry's.

You sir didn't understand what i wrote, so here i will write it again in a different format: He said he didn't see the point on having such functionality and would recommend buying a keyboard with the switches that the buyer wants thus i wrote some facts on how it maybe useful to have such feature because in all honesty i don't think he thought about them which as i stated earlier none of us is 100% knowledgeable . If you call that an argument so be it.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Thoughts on removable switch mech keyboards?"

You sound displeased. An opinion reflects a person's thoughts, experience and knowledge about something , i doubt anyone of us has a 100% info about anything so discussing an opinion isn't arguing , i mean the whole 'thoughts on' posts is to see and realize different views that haven't crossed my mind. when you are done reading that boring paragraph how about you post your thoughts on removable and modular switches.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Thoughts on removable switch mech keyboards?"

  • 2 points

How can you say that, most people that buy mechanical keyboard haven't tested all the switches to know what they like, sure you can buy switch tester but it doesn't exactly reflect the feeling of having an entire keyboard in a specific switch and advantage #2 is if your switch dies you can easily replace it, personally speaking i'm tired of brown switches and i want to change it but it doesn't justify spending 100$+ for another keyboard
