Nope, that cooler is designed to avoid clearance issues. It does not overhang.
Thanks! The backplate was a breeze. They include small magnets with adhesive on one side. Stick the magnet to your screws, sticky side up, then press on the plate. Done. They recommend you do it outside the case, which I'm not sure is necessary, but I did it nonetheless.
I use ASUS Aura. The motherboard has two RGB headers, but I think Aura only allows one RGB strip to be controlled. I was only able to get the colors I wanted through a lot of trial and error. I don't know why they don't allow for both strips to be controlled independently if they give two headers...
Thanks! Like I said, the cooling was not as effective as my research led to believe, but still adequate. I even reseated the cooler and reapplied paste just to make sure that wasn't it. Overall, mid 70's while gaming and low 80s peaks, so a little hot, but still just within safe operation.
