This thing is a monster. Looks great, stays cool, and truly unleashes it's power on games ESPECIALLY when overclocked. Picked this up for $199.99 on Cyber Monday but ended up getting away with it for 169.99 after mail in rebate! Barely any performance difference between this one and it's 6GB counterpart. GTA 5, BF1, and Fallout 4 all in the 45-60FPS range thanks to this workhorse.
This is a good value video card that focuses on rear exhaust due to the orientation of the fins without the need for a noisy blower-style fan. Excellent performance in gaming, and the Silent profile in the ASUS GPU Tweak software enables the system to maintain 83 degrees maximum under load in a horizontally-oriented Fractal Node 202. Fans are not distracting at all under this profile although you can hear them slightly.
Good card but would recommend a different 1060 3gb. Chose this one because the white matched my color scheme but I believe it isn't the best. Was more expensive than other brands and is very noisy under load. However, it stays cool and is quiet at idle. Gets the job done.
I've had this card in a few builds now, and it will be handed down to a family member before too long. I've played a number of recent games(BF1, Mass Effect Andromeda, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Paragon, Battlefront and more) on it and it plays anything on highest or nearly highest settings when the GPU is the limiting factor. The 3GB of VRAM does mean it will probably become obsolete sooner than similar powered 4GB cards, but with how I've seen this card perform I'm not concerned. The entire GTX 1060/RX 480 line of cards should be delivering good results for a while.
This specific AIB card runs pretty cool and overclocks very well. Over 2.1GHz on the core and 9GHz memory. It also looks nice with any white or monochrome build and isn't overly loud, even with my custom fan curves that are faster than stock.
Upgrading from the integrated graphics of my 2700k, this card was a massive improvement. Has no problem watching netflix, twitch, youtube, etc at 1080p. None of the games I play are that graphically intensive so I can run most of them at the highest settings. Overall, I haven't had this card for long but I'm loving it.
I was concerned about the 3GBs of onboard memory, but this GPU is awesome. I have no issues running 1080p graphics at the highest settings. A few places I have reduced the settings from ultra to high due to unoptimized games.
