I think a lot of people tend to overlook the power supply because it isn't that glamorous, but I think it's one of the most important parts. So I wanted to get a very high quality one that I knew I could rely on. After looking into it I found that the new Corsair AX series was based on the Seagate KM3 platform which is a solid improvement over their old KM2, which was already pretty good to start with. That plus the modular design and platinum efficiency rating made it my top pick. I was going to go with the 760 since that would have provided me with more than enough power, even if I was going to run a second GPU but the 860 came up on sale so I got it instead.

Old PSU from previous build that was going to be used for an SLI setup that I never got round to doing, way more power than I’ll ever need, it’s served me well.

No problems at all, besides the custom white cables are extremely stiff and a little difficult to work with.

This power supply was a carryover from my last rig. It has a 7 year warranty and I’m only 4-years into it so might as well make the best of a good thing and continue using it.
I still had the ugly black braided cables for it and I asked myself do I want to design my own custom cables or outsource for some, I decided on the latter. I started looking at CableMod then stumbled across Ensourced and started looking at completed builds that used Ensourced cables and I kept seeing issues with uniformity where the cable bunch looked disarray. So I looked some more and went to my old source for supplies at MDPC-X and noticed that they now had online resellers and found Mod-One located here in the USA. I was in hog heaven being able to get all the nice rich colors and they did the sleeving for me and for my PSU too.
The custom cables we’re expensive that’s a given considering they’re the best so I bought my SATA power cables and EPS cable first. Then on another order I bought the VGA cable and on my last order I finally bought the 24-pin motherboard cable and that one was expensive as hell to get.

A little pricey depending on where you get it from. I managed to get a good deal on it. Been using for 4 years now and i plan to use it for another 6 at least. 10+ year warranty Pog

Great efficiency, Japanese capacitors, full modular with a nice black cable set.
This PSU is only 160mm in length making it one of the smallest PSUs with 850W of power. If you are cramming a couple AMD video cards into a small case, this may be the PSU you are looking for.
If you are getting your cables sleeved you may want to go with the AX860i as it doesn't use the 18+10 motherboard connection this PSU has. The extra money you spend getting the i would be saved on that cable.

Its silent, reliable, and it uh... supplies power to my computer. Modular is life.
