Not a shell shocker, but it was on sale. I had been keeping my eye on it as it was one of the few keyboards that had all the features I was looking for. The keyboard itself is fantastic. It is my first mechanical keyboard, and it felt so strange to use at first. The sound and amount of travel was something to get used to. Now I don't know how lived without it. The software for it is still pretty terrible even after several updates. I think GSkill has given up on making it better. Oh well, once I got my LED's set the way I wanted, I don't need to use the software anymore anyway.
Update-March 2018: I haven't had any major issues with this keyboard, but as stated before, the software/interface is terrible. I ended up winning a Corsair K70 Lux in a contest, so I've been using that because it's easier to set up hotkeys, macros, and lighting profiles. The GSkill keyboard is great if all you need is a solid mechanical keyboard, but if you want the extra functions, look elsewhere. The software for it is terrible.

Hands down my favourite component! I have the cherry MX brown keys with this version and they're great for typing and gaming. The aesthetics of the keyboard might not be for everyone, but personally I love it. This version comes with a small case that you can replace 10 of the more common keys for gaming. These key caps are red and the WASD keys are angled for gaming. In my opinion the keys are angled too much and would just feel weird for typing. Regardless the standard keys alone are great for gaming.
Lastly the RGB lighting looks fantastic. Now the G.Skill software is not up to par with Corsair or Razer, but for the look I was going for I was able to achieve it pretty easily once I figured out exactly how the software worked.

This keyboard is amazing. Keep in mind it's my first mechanical, but I just love this thing. It's super durable, has RGB LED customizable backlighting, as well as media keys and on the fly macros. The software isn't as great as Corsair's or Razer's, but keep in mind this is G.Skill's first keyboard ever made.
