Nice build. I'd be tempted to go with an FX processor since the onboard graphics of the A10 wouldn't be used.

Light gaming. Eh he should probably go for an intel build IMHO.

Here's one that's right on the money. Depending on how light your gaming is, you might go with an AMD APU build and knock $100 off of it.

What is the difference between an APU and a GPU?

  • 1 point

A GPU is a graphics processing unit.

APU is an abbreviation that AMD uses for their processors that include integrated graphics. It stands for Accelerated Processing Unit and is a combination of a CPU and a GPU.

It's just another term for integrated graphics, except the integrated graphics on these processors is actually intended to compete with entry level discrete graphics cards.

Or could I even cut some pricing off? (Besides the case, I love the case)

That build works for just about any game.

I would head out to youtube and check out some gameplay videos of the different game and video card combinations that you are considering. Think about how serious you are about it and whether what you see is good enough for your needs. There are some awesome video cards out there that will blow your budget away all by themselves. A budget is a budget for a reason. :)

Check out some sites like gpuboss.com to learn more about particular video cards and cpuboss.com for processors.

I think you can get a great PC for under $500, or even much less. It just takes some research. Happy hunting. :)

A decent PC is going to cost you $550 with out OS and peripherals, even for light 1080p gaming. So crank your budget up $100 and i have awesome list for you.

Well, if you show me the list I might be able to sweep up another $100
