I'm just throwing ideas around for making my first computer. I want it to be powerful and versatile, yet I'd prefer not to go over $1500 (AU). This is what I've picked out, based on research and prior knowledge. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be very grateful.

I'd get a r9 290 instead of the 660 ti nearly twice as powerful.

A GTX 970 is about the same price give or take as a r9 290 and more powerful still for most uses.

I am selling this monster for 1500. It is a steal at that price, and it is already built and it runs great. I need the money which is why I am selling.

I would recommend getting 2x4GB memory as opposed to the single 8GB stick just so you can take advantage of the dual channel.

Thanks. I was thinking of starting off with that 8GB, then buying more later and upgrading as I go.

This is very much appreciated, but I feel that such an enormous overhaul of the parts list robs me of much of the feeling that it is my own creation. I will keep this in mind, however. I hadn't thought about the case fans. Thank you.
