How important is brand matching?

I am pretty new to PC gaming, so forgive me if this is a silly question. I see a lot of setups feature the keyboard and mouse coming from the same brand. Is there a reason for that other than brand loyalty? I ask because my keyboard right now is Corsair K70 rgb mk.2 and my mouse is the Logitech g502. I picked these because they just happened to be what I liked best out of what I could try hands-on.

RGB is literally useless on a mouse since your hand covers it up when it is in use. Outside of taking fancy pictures to show off your build RGB syncing really won't matter. Having one piece of software to use for key binding is a nice to have but its not a must.

could be useful when it has rgb so you can sync those parts but otherwise it's not important in my view really.
