ive been researching parts to do a gaming build. i know i have restrictions with 800$. but i want eventually be capable of playing all games ranging form civ5 to gtaIV to battlefield3. Being a first time builder i put togethor these 2 builds(1 intel cpu, 1 amd cpu). what would i be the better buy for the dollar? wich one would i get the most out of performance wise?

For the AMD build I would change your motherboard. Go with a 990FX board, Gigabyte ud3 or ud5 would be a great option. Also for about 15 bucks more you can get G.Skill Sniper 1866mhz ram. If you go with a 990fx try and get a dual 16x pci slots, the video card will play ALMOST everything nearly max, and if you need to upgrade you can always go sli/crossfire for another 200 and max everything out easily.

The Intel actually looks spot on for under 900.. I would add a 1TB western blue 7200rpm hard drive tho, newegg had one on sale yesterday for 69.99.

Oh n I would believe the Intel build would win in gaming between these builds..

Its all about preference tho.. I am a AMD fan, My first build was amd and the processors always last, never had issues, and I'm a Nvidia fan so If you like the AMD build better, I would swap out for the 660 GTX, and SLI two of them in 6 months and you will actually have a hell of a gaming system

For the intel build: Drop the cpu to the 3570k and put that money into a 7950/660ti, whichever you prefer. You DO NOT need the i7 for gaming..
