$400 USD (ESports?) Gaming PC

tydowntyty

Statement(s):

  • Wanted to see if $400 gaming is still possible in late 2017.

  • The CPU is Carrizo (For all of you who are not really paying attention).

Questions:

  • How much could this actually handle as a workstation?

  • Can it handle 1080p (24, 30, or 60 FPS) on modern games? Quality scale: 1 Lowest; 2 Low; 3 Low-Mid; 4 Medium; 5 Mid-High; 6 High; 7 Ultra.

Significantly better build.

  • This CPU will crush that CPU in every aspect.
  • At this point and time, H110 motherboards have been updated to support Kaby Lake.
  • 8gb of DDR4 RAM
  • Simple 1tb of storage. That HDD you chose isn’t that reliable as it’s an older drive.
  • GTX 1050 is about on par with the RX 460.
  • Bleh case, but it works. Maybe you can squeeze In a better one.
  • This PSU is the minimum PSU I would choose. This unit it the best sub 50$ PSU you can get and the PSU is not something you cheap out on.

way better build^

  1. Not dead socket
  2. better psu
  3. 1 stick instead of 4
  4. nicer case (IMO)
  5. slightly better gpu

(of course the gpu is synthetic so performance can be better or worse in certain games)

$70 mail-in rebate does not work for me. That makes your real total $481.49.

Actually was fine with everything upto the point of there being not dedicated GPU. Dedicated GPU is a requirement.

you are wrong. The iGpu on the 9700 is garbage. If you have seen my parts list I fit a 1050 and ryzen 3 1200.
