Case fans

Hi guys I'm thinking of buying the CM MasterBox 5 (Black cus its cheaper) over the NZXT S340. I think it comes with 2 fans, but I dunno if this is enough. How many of which quality fans should I buy to keep my parts at a good temp? First time builder.

Two fans are probably enough technically speaking.

But it's less about fan count and more about balance. I'm going to assume you'll be using an air cooler. So, that fan aside, my rule of thumb is for every one fan blowing in, you should have one fan blowing out. If you have an odd number of fans, I have the "extra" be intake (to create positive pressure in the case).

You'll have a GPU in the build so I'm thinking having at least one more intake fan is probably a good idea. To ensure solid air movement and fresh air for the GPU cooler.

LinusTechTips posted a video that showed extremely diminishing returns after 4 fans or more. If I recall right, they found that at least 2 but probably 3 was the best balance.

2 fans is enough. Just make sure you have one in the front as intake and one in the back as exhaust.

Monitor your temperatures and if you feel like you need cooler temps, try adding a fan later.
