College Setup

I'm going to start college this fall, and am currently figuring out what I want my electronics setup to be. The options I'm looking at right now are as follows:

  • Keep my current laptop (an i3-4030u ASUS transformer laptop) and upgrade the storage to an SSD. This is only an option if my laptop is compatible with windows ink. EDIT: According to the Microsoft website, my computer isn't compatible with windows ink.

  • Buy an XPS 13 2-in-1 or a Spectre x360 2-in-1.

My primary use case will be notetaking and Sibelius (music notation software). I don't plan on playing a whole lot of games, and the ones I might want to play would run on intel graphics.

Does my current laptop make use of Windows Ink? If I'm going to buy a new laptop, which one makes sense?

Thanks in advance.
