First time building PC, hoping to make a machine for art, design, webdev, and gaming! About $1,000 budget!

Hello everyone!

I'm new to building a PC, never done it before. I've spent a majority of my years using average laptops. I'm finally ready to commit to a solid workstation that can handle my specific needs.

  • Budget: $1,000 (note: may go SLIGHTLY over depending on how essential some parts are).
  • Use (gaming, rendering, etc): Adobe Creative Suite (photoshop, illustrator, maybe animate). I don't play very intensive games, but I do like modded minecraft. I know that's a huge optimized mess though. I usually multi-task between browsing, drawing. Or browsing and gaming (with guides or wikis, etc.) Like, I've survived with low FPS and low settings, so having high end graphics card isn't a huge deal.
  • Peripherals required (monitor, keyboard/mouse, etc): Nothing, I have two Dell monitors I'm going to be using. Dell UltraSharp 24" monitors, 60z each. 1920 x 1200 on each.
  • Operating System required: Windows, but don't have to include it.

I'm in the US. Also located near a Fry's Electronics if that matters. Please help me out and give me some tips! What I could upgrade in the future and benefit from when I have more funds?

Thank you!

You're a great candidate for a Ryzen build. Paired the cost-effective R7 1700 with an 8G RX 480. Welcome to team red.

16GB RAM for your multitasking, SSD/HDD combo for lighting-fast boot/OS and mass storage, great case and PSU to round it out.

Thank you so much! This looks pretty amazing, I have been thinking about taking advantage of the Ryzen CPUs!

I'm going to do some more research before I pull the trigger. :)
