I'd like to build a solid dual core xeon workstation for 3d graphics. The applications I would run on this would be graphic apps like Maya, Houdini and Nuke. I'm not interested going into a Quadro card solution. I choose 1080 cause it seems the most optimal compromise between cost and performance for CUDA power. I choose 2x 8 cores CPU cause the 16 cores counterpart seems to cost a lot more money. I would use Linux 99% of times, but it'll be a dual boot system (Linux + Win).
Do you see anything wrong in this config? Anything you would add?

I used to build by own boxes 10 years ago and I'm a bit rusty on the new technology. Furthermore this website makes it incredibly easy to choose compatible parts. Really cool stuff. Thank you a lot in advance for your help.
