i also have a G4560 and a 1050 Ti. On PUBG i can even play on 1440p with low/ very low settings and get 40 - 50 FPS. the game still looks good though because 1440p. on 1080p i usually play on medium settings and i can get from 55 - 65 fps. on both resolution i don't have stutters too.. which is nice. i have 16 GB of Memory though

I'm kind of new to pc had console for ever but does more RAM mean I can run games on better FPS or is RAM just for memory?

Well kind of. But the CPU and the video card are more important than Ram (Ram = Memory). 8GB are enough for a budget system. And Memory is the easiest part to upgrade. if you want more in the future just buy the same Module again and put it in the ram slot and you are done.
