I suggest Intel because the FX-8350 is from 2012 and many newer CPUs have come from Intel since then. It's hard to justify buying something that old. The performance gains over time are in favor of Intel.

That's not exactly how it works. Overclocking will boost the performance a little, but not a considerable margin.

But what about overclocking the fsb which increases single threaded performance for applications and most importantly: games
