Description

My build came ~$2000 with the screen and the headset.

  • CPU is running 24c at idle. I ran prime95 for about 30 minutes and the highest it came was around 50c. It's running stock for now but I'm planning to put some time to tweak it higher.

  • The motherboard is crazy, it runs nice and there are so many features. The wifi wouldn't work at all on windows 8 at first. It runs nice on windows 7 but it's not as fast as wired, still decent, no complaints. No problem so far with it.

  • The 840 was giving me ALOT of BSOD. BSOD the same amount in both OS. I ran Samsung magic program and tweaked the SSD to run better. I got no problem since, only been few hours though. It runs fast and windows boots ridiculously fast.

  • The 7970 is eating every single game I thrown at her. I overclocked it a bit but I'm planning to flash the GHZ Edition bios on it.

  • The Corsair 600T is a ******* joke, I could fit my cat in it, even with my build in it. The case is silent enough that my wife was able to fall asleep while I was in the same room.

  • The Razer keyboard was cheaper than the G110 when I bought my last parts so I went with it instead. The feel is nice and it has firm keys. The only downside would be the backlit keys; some are not lit completely.

  • The Sensei, man... this mouse is absolutely awesome. Everything about it is nice, I would recommend it to anyone. I will most likely buy sleeved cables later on.

So.. How is my build looking?

TL;DR All the parts are nice, no complaints.

awesome build. When I built mine I was deciding between this MSI board and the one I ended up with. The only reason I ended up with the Gigabyte board is because it was on sale in a bundle which put it close to $130 otherwise I was leaning towards getting this MSI board. I was going to pair it with an MSI Lightning GPU to match :P

How did you find it was to overclock using the BIOS?

OC Genie is actually quite crazy. It's so easy to overclock the CPU on it. At first I was looking at the UD3H, ended with the mpower and I do not regret it.

Nice build, although you spent a little much on the motherboard.

Awesome build! Is there a reason you needed two TB of space or are you using a recycled hard drive? I have your keyboard and It's been a very good keyboard for me although for about 20 bucks more, we could have had a mechanical, I'm planning to go Mech. for my next build.

I got the keyboard on sale for $49 at ncix. I bought a 2TB drive because it was dirt cheap for quality.

Very nice build, a 650w psu would have done the job but other than that a nicely balanced build. Well done sir!

I felt the same way initially but I personally am glad I decided to go with a 750w so that I have the option for SLI in the future. Maybe the builder here is doing the same thing.

I'm not sure if I will CF in the future and I thought buying 750W now was a better idea than having to buy another PSU down the road.

Great build. What monitor did you end up with?

27" BENQ GW2750HM for now since it was cheap. Going to get a 1440p monitor as soon as money let me.

Great build! Plus 1 for the use of that ssd. I bet your rig is lightning fast lol. Quick question though, on that ssd do you only use it for the os or do you put your most used programs on it as well? A example would be something like Google chrome, fraps, stuff like that.

I actually run all drivers, chrome, SC2, BF3 and all my overclocking programs. I still have 73GB left.

Ok, thanks for the reply. I bet you have steam installed on that 2tb drive though lol.

I actually installed steam on the 2TB drive and everything loads fast. Good guess.

Why the Razer Lycosa? Didn't it have loads of complaints about it's keys randomly not working at times?

Anyway, nice build

The price. I had it for about a week and it works like a charm.

$75? And not mechanical? You can pick up one of those for like $50.
