Description

Starlock is a custom gaming computer that I have been working on for my instagram page: PcGaming101. The long term goal is to water-cool and I hope to finally do it sometime. Starlock has had several versions and been torn apart and given up on several times. This is the final product before watercooling.

Ive been very fortunate to do this build. I was given several opportunities to get parts and share my work. And to think a year ago this started with an i7 860 and r7 260x.

Ive also been very fortunate with parts. Im able to achieve an overclock of 4.8ghz with 1.38v on my chip. I've also maintained a 1585mhz overclock on the gpus.

Feel free to check out my instagram instagram.com/pcgaming101 for all my progress updates I did

I Included more photos of previous versions on Starlock. Most of these shots are Macros shots to highlight the Cables and color combinations. For the purposes of people understanding the Anidees Case Photos are the most current.

Nice build. Purple isn't my preference, but who cares? You did a great job sticking to your color pallet and cable management!

WellDone!

May it serve you faithfully for a long time :)

That is probably one of the best photography jobs done on this site. I wish I had a camera that could focus in on detail that well, haha.

And the build of course, well done as always.

great build! How was building in that case if i may ask?

  • 2 points

It was a bit rough but extremely fun. The cable management in the back is tight....very tight. I would also triple check all your clearance for all your parts because graphics cards need to be a certain length and the psu needs to be kinda smaller form factor. I was able to fit an evga full size psu in but barely and with tight cables.

I love the color scheme. It's so great to see another purple color scheme but I particularly enjoy staring at your build. It's clean, well chosen colors and beautiful. Thank you for sharing your lovely build. You have my one!

  • 1 point

That's some sick, sick aesthetics you have there, as well as a great deal on the ssd and gpu's.

plus one

That color scheme! The cable management! Looks amazing!

You should submit this beauty in pc wars by tech source.

  • 1 point

very nice build, although is that second gpu bending upwards? probably isn't good at all for the PCI-e slots or the card itself.

  • 1 point

Slightly its a clearance problem with the cable shroud that came with the case. I haven't had time to fix it.

  • 1 point

oh yeah i can see that now, shame, maybe you could do some kind holes in the bottom shroud to manage them downwards ?

Its on the list to do :)

Will you please link me to the cables?

They look like they are probably custom made.

Nevermind - Checked the build on his IG and he links mainframe_customs for the cabling.

+1 for the purple theme, well executed :)

only thing that slightly bugs me is the missing additional 4-pin CPU cable. other than that its pretty much perfect, hope to see it running :)

If your long term goal is watercooling take note that EK and other block makers stop producing blocks for gpu's after the 2 generations (aka whenever the new NVidia card comesout) so if you're getting a block get it sooner rather than later and just wait for install

  • 1 point

I love it, my only suggestion is to paint those dominator platinums purple.

This build is aesthetically pleasing. However, I can't comprehend why you choose that GPU. The G1 Gaming GTX 1080 is currently $10 cheaper. Anyways, beautiful color scheme. Reminds me of my build coming soon.

The build is amazing. What made you use GTX 980 Ti's over the newer 10 series? If you went with a 1080, you 'd have a higher base clock speed and higher memory. I'm using the Asus GeForce GTX 1080 8GB ROG STRIX Video Card for reference

  • 1 point

I started this build long before the 1080s came out and i dont really want to switch. They serve me well and im gonna wait till volta

oh wow. i like your sabertooth mod. you got me thinkin about mine now. does the face plate unscrew from front back or both?

consider when you unscrew it you void your warranty same with painting

WTF

in Pic 8, the CPU wasn't even in yet, surprising that you can even use it without one

I know you can't use a PC without a CPU, +wan for completed build ;)

What did you use to paint the RAM I never seen someone paint that RAM like that

  • 1 point

That isn't paint on the ram. with the cooler installed, it looks like he has Hyper X installed. but the other ram is Dominator Platinum. no one should paint that. That is an abomination!!!

  • 1 point

Love it! What did you use to coat your parts with purple?

i can honestly say.... this was my proudest fap.

Great ***** job. This is gorgeous without a doubt.
