Build was primarily for gaming, though I do CAD for work as well (laying out architectural schematics). Needed a powerful machine and went with the 6800k. Super happy with how everything came out. System runs fast, cool and quiet. Had some small hiccups with construction (getting the video card to display, determined the issue was the pci-e riser cable we were using to do a vertical mount) but got that ironed out. Case we used was the deepcool genome, with a built in deepcool 360 and a really cool looking dna helix in the front that pulses. Easy to hook up and my CPU is ice cold. It was my first build, but I'm super happy so far! Thanks for looking!
Edit: followed some advice and Re-did all my cable management. Got it all hidden away. Also, added two new case fans hooked up to the leads in my GPU. They kick on when it starts getting warm. Cooled my system waaaay down. CPU is running at 40c under load (was at 49/50 before).
Posted on the first try, super sturdy, love the RGB, no dead pins or connections. Very easy to work with.
Good bang for its buck, painless install and lightning fast, what more can you ask for?
Makes loud crunching noises whenever it's under load. I don't know if I got a defective HDD but I've never heard one this loud. I'm exchanging just in case and not saving anything to it.
This thing is crunching any game I throw at it at max settings with no effort. I'm not surprised and I'd be dissapointed if it wasn't, but still...coming from a ****** laptop GPU I'm in heaven. Install was painless, and the RGB effects are pretty sick.
If you want a responsive gaming keyboard but just can't get used to huge mechanical keys and want the chiclet style, this is pretty much the way to go. Love it so far and the chroma effects are really cool .
